Still no unit collision. The Warscape engine is not good for this kind of warfare it doesn't look real at all just like a big mess and it is not fun to watch. I have never touched a new total war game since Rome 2 wich was a disaster. And from the looks of this it looks the same. Though I hope that it will be better than it seems but I have my doubts.

I would like Total War to make more interesting missions. Like for some campaign of Cesar in Gaul or Hanibal at the Gates game just put you in and doesn't give you some ordinary strict mission. It just gives you main goal and that's it. Would like to see more cut scenes and maybe historical battles or scenes in fight when enemy general die or yours.

Now the question is how fat of a check are we going to have to give to buy the one feature that should be in the game by default, but hasn't been in the series by default since Medieval 2, Blood Pack DLC. If they milk the main series with it, they'll milk the new Saga series with it.

i really like the total war saga. but i think the system is getting old, always the same system with just new factions and new map. never nothing new. and always the multiplayer have bad fps and low players. i don't know but i'm a little disappointed with Creative Assembly.

Are we looking at being allowed multiple Armies roaming the map in the ones? I. E Attila & Rome 2 you were limited to say 3 or 4 armies at the beginning, where as everything previous; Shogun 2, Empire, etc you could have multiple without limitation? if that all makes sense?

Finally a new Total War game which isn't War Hammer. And it's all in the UK! Super excited for this. I hope it develops into the game I hope it is. Attila was really good, much better than Rome 2 so i'm hoping this will be better.

Reminds me of Shogun II (my personal favorite) with the UI and map style, skipped warhammer I and II due to the lack of knowledge of the lore, and lack of actual historical battles, really looking forward to this one!

Disgusting UI, if they went to easy and user friendly interface like in RTW (first one) I would consider buying, I will not even pirate this game because of shitty UI like in RTW2, complex and just disgusting.

Ugh. has that same dark and drab look of Attila. Might be waiting for this one to go on sale. Literally the first Total War I'll not buy day 1. Just really dislike that aesthetic.

You forgot to talk about the hero system, that had been one of main systems since Rome 1, and they are trying to take this key feature ( this need to be say in all reviews)

Attila engine = Bad Fps, Bad unit colission = just bad game, sorry the art work looks fine, but CA is wasting time and effort trying do prolong this mess engine.
reply

Are they gonna price it as a normal, whole total war game? What hell is this exactly? Some testing ground before their next proper game or what?
reply

Great review, too many re-used things in the game from previous ones. A lot of rightful complaints about this i see comin up day by day.
reply

Ooh I've not had much interest in Total War before, but I'm looking forward to seeing places I know in such a fascinating time period.
reply

Theres like no goblins anywhere, or orks and dwarfs like anywhere. wonder how CA is gonna market this alongside Total Warhammer.
reply

Random question but are there different accents in this game for each faction? Like Liverpool, Scotland, Newcastle, Irish just wondering.
reply

please make a console version just make a note in the box to connect mouse and keyboard to console if needed please and thank you.

The charge at 0: 35 looks really bad. Seems like CA is still not capable of implementing unit collision into their crappy warscape engine.

I use to play Gettysburg made by Firaxis. Are there any games that are popular of a simular format. I really hate farming. TY

I hope this is going all the way to 1066, try to hold off a Norman invasion or something at the end. That would be great
reply

I just hope this game runs smoother than Attila. Apart from that, I'm really looking forward to playing as the Vikings!
reply

I loved Charlemagne in Attila and am really looking forward to this. I'm happy with the scaling of the British Isles.
reply

Wait, you don't need buildings to build troops? So you can just hire any unit in any region? Then how do you tech up?
reply

I'm sure that ranged units will be terrible yet again. This series peaked with Shogun 2. Some how it just gets worse now
reply

Im still waiting for Medieval 3 total war. after so many years, it would be nice to get good total war game again.

What on Earth is going on with those hideous portraits? They look like they were drawn by middle schoolers.

A game with the gameplay of Total War and the politics of Crusader Kings. Now that is what i long for.
reply

I think it's not much different from Attila. Attila map is large but Thrones of Britannia is narrow.
