Christ, the Souls purists are getting their panties all in a wad with this one. Sure, you're probably not going to like this game as much as Dark Souls but not every combat-centric action RPG has to be Dark Souls either. This game seems to have potential hang-ups that are -not- related to it not being -just like Dark Souls-. Demanding things be similar is just demanding saturation for that niche, which is objectively silly.
If you think the combat is slow, that's a fair enough complaint without saying it was -faster in Dark Souls-. If you don't like the companion mechanic, you can dislike it without it -ruining what made Dark Souls fun-. If you don't like the aesthetic, that's got nothing to do with Dark Souls either. I would argue it's biggest downfall is being too -much- like Dark Souls. It's anime, that opens you up to allowing more drastic and flashy combat/animation than what we're shown here.
I personally don't want another Dark Souls, we're -already- getting that in May with the remaster. I love that style of game and I think innovating on it is the best direction the industry can take to avoid over-saturation. We don't need to have action RPGs feeling like how FPS's did a few years back.

Overall I-m pretty satisfied with the progress made, its looking a lot better than a few months ago. Movement and rolling looks a bit better (although rolling could be better, it needs a bit more speed at the start of the roll. Since you-re leaping forward with all your body weight.
But most importantly for me, I like that they given the weapons some weight with visual cues, but the audio cues for heavy swings feel a bit delayed.

Looks much better than the demo I saw last year, combat seems to be hella improved and has a good flow. I'm curious how the AI partner system and the strategy elements that he talked about are going to be in the final game. I'd like to see them explore those types of elements and others that are outside of what bloodborne has already given us.

This feels like a good casual darksouls like experince. And thats not a bad thing as people are putting it. If you thibk the souls series or even Nioh was hard, i feel this could be that stepping stone to get yourself into that combat and potentially leway into the souls games

Not a bad idea but music, speed movement and ennemy diversity are awfully lacking but it can be a decent game even tho it's clearly dark souls oriented.
Maybe add a cooperation and more dodge/jump possibilty in story mode can be a great idea since the game looks hard

that is just awful button mashing without even trying to dodge or timing. aesthetic is fine also lower difficulty (companion's heals and aggro) if optional is not bad thing at all. voice acting terrible. looks like fun slasher with small dose of -souls-like-.

Weeaboos 1st soulslike. Now with coop so you don't have to time your heals/buffs and a revive mechanic where you always get a 2nd chance when you make a mistake. Why do none of these souls-likes understand what makes Dark Souls good?

They shouldve chosen someone better at the game to preoperly showcase it fully. You wouldntve lasted more than 20 seconds against the boss if not for your coop. Doge rolling way to soon heavy attacking the boss headon. Geez

Welp who else is gonna buy this game even though they know tht they wont be good at it? But even if i wont be good at it at least my brother could play this and actually be good at it so it wont be completely wasted on me XD

The attack animations are in dire need of some work. Looks alright though.
Although i must say that the AI you always have with you kinda ruins it. Looks like it would be much more fun without it.

I often feel like anime games have the tendency to look cheap. this shit is beautiful. Yes, it looks a lot like Dark Souls, but like so what? we like dark souls? Now we get dark souls but wit anime tiddies.

So it's Dark Souls in an anime style with bloodborne's aesthetic, and throw in an annoying teammate for some reason. I've got nothing against soulslikes, but be more creative about it.

Why do they always run the dev demo by giving the controller to the most inept player ever. I am willing to bet just so people buy the game and in their minds go -this is how you fkin play! -

This demo pretty much shows what a fromsoft game would be if it was designed like most games nowadays, basically a win simulator. This dude would be trash without the summon.

I'm really not understanding the Dark Souls comparisons. Are we just gonna start calling every 3rd person beat em up with RPG elements a 'Souls-like' game? Pretty lame, guys.

This weirdly looks pretty cool and can see potential with it adding things the soul series doesn't/can't but right now it' looks 40% ripped straight from bloodborne.

Because its an easier looking version of Dark Souls with anime boobies I automatically hate it without actually playing it.

The AI sucks, and talks too much. We saw it there the player was shooting but the AI didn't lock on, but was still shooting.

I'm concerned about how you can just shoot enemies and they don't aggro? That's gotta be a bug or just not implemented yet.

The game looks awesome. Just remove coop thing, and remove revivals. Also the dude playing is terrible.
