Pok-mon Y Nuzlocke Challenge - Episode 5: Dinosaurs

I'm making progress in my Nuzlocke run of Pok-mon Y, following my heartbreaking first loss in last week's episode. But this week, I'm taking on the game's second Trainer Gym, which features some surprisingly durable Rock-type Pok-mon. Can I protect my precious children from their bouldery onslaught? Or will Sea Breeze get some unexpected company up in Pok-mon Heaven? RULES: 1) I can only catch the first Pokemon I encounter in each area. This counts gift and traded Pokemon. 1a) If that first encounter is a Pokemon I've already caught, I can keep searching until my first encounter with a new Pokemon. 2) If a Pokemon faints, I must deposit it in the PC and release it as soon as possible. No exceptions! 3) No healing items (Potions, Antidotes, Lemonade, etc) can be used in battle. Held items and healing moves are still permitted. 4) I have to play the game in Set mode. 5) After each gym completion, I have to Wonder Trade a member of my winning team. The duplicate clause also applies here

Should-ve been pushing Floppy Greg. His evolved form Heliolisk is a great electric type, and I dunno about X/Y, but Heliolisk has a sweet move called Parabolic Charge. He causes electrical damage, and 60% of the damage is converted into HP for Floppy Greg.

So a child walks into a hotel room, and meets a grown man called -Mr. Bonding, - who then gives him -O-Power. - Dammit game, I'm trying not to read too much into this, but you're making it really difficult

Rewatching this run and knowing who dies feels just like that prozd sketch
-Filburt owns, hes like the beast of the party! -
-. but little do you know, he will soon be the DECEASED of the party. -

Fun fact! If you touch Honedge-s hilt, it wraps that blue ribbon thing around your arm and steals your life force. Maybe that-s why that-s its favorite place to be pet?

For years, mankind has been pondering the same three questions.
-Did he just call me a big boy? -
-Is his name Shad? -
and -Is Shellder a rock type? -

Hammertime's close call reminds me of Jaiden Animations' Ruby nuzlocke, where Ari the Swellow survived an attack with just 2 HP.
RIP Zipzapzop.

Goodness this series is filled with absolute gems but I have to say the -stop. Hammertime- slow-mo- and zoom in on the hp bar had me ROLLING -

Griffin's personality and the editing done on these videos makes this an easy rewatch even years (and new pokemon generations) later

it still messes me up how bubble is a move that hurts literally any pokemon considering the in game animation is so non threatening

the fade from burn notice to dinosaurs is hilarious only because griffin put in all that work only to change 1 party member

I just found this with the new content of Daniel on Polygon. I very much love that hammer time. Just wanted to have you know.

-this looks like it could chew up anything, and that's kind of my whole aesthetic- whether you like it or not, Voreboy

Technically Dinosaurs was a static pokemon so in most nuzlockes it doesnt count towards the catch on that route

It's okay to have a plural name! Some people are named Charles instead of Charle and James instead of Jame.

You should've sent Hammertime out sooner when it kept using bite since Hammertime double resists dark

I-m so used to zooming on the hp when the pokemon dies, so when It zoomed in on HammerTime-s hp I flinched
