just because the actors don't really watch their films doesn't mean they haven't seen it at all. Most films have big Premieres and you can expect that the entire cast would be invited to watch it, plus it's kinda rude for a main actor of a film to skip the Premiere just cuz they want to. On a different note, the most of the actors often interact with the crew during the filming processes, meaning they get to watch raw footage of the film scenes they just finished performing in order to gauge their acting performance. That coupled with the months they spend preparing for the role means that, while their performance will be entertaining the audience, they themselves would be too distracted by their own mistakes to even care about if they like the movie as it is. Plus going through all those countless rehearsals and retakes is gonna be just like having seen the movie a million times before you actually go to watch it.

Its weird that these actors dont like watching their own movies. Like you dream of being an A-list movie star, but you wont watch your acclaimed work or see yourself in a franchise you dream of being a part of? One of my dream roles is to be Jack Skellington in a live-action remake of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and you think I wouldnt want to re-experience that if I were ever lucky enough to get the part? I mean, Johnny Depp is like one of my gods and one of my influences as a struggling actor. If it werent for the likes of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, then I probably wouldnt want the good life. Also, if these actors dont watch their own movies, why do they go to their red carpet premieres anyway?

I still cannot believe that most of the cast of the original Resident Evil video had not checked out the game until over a decade after they finished filming.
Most of them say it was due to the project being named Biohazard in Japan.
I'm sorry, but I find that reasoning absurd.
Wouldn't someone be curious about a game he or she worked on, regardless of the game's name? I am baffled that none of them thought, Gee, I wonder whatever became of that Biohazard gig. Maybe I can find a copy and play it.

I feel the same way about seeing myself in old videos or voice recordings. Another performer that can be added to this list is Jenna Ortega; she admitted this about a year ago in an interview where she watched some of her old work, such as Stuck in the Middle and Jane the Virgin. She pretty much said she avoids seeing herself as much as possible - I have no clue how they got her to film that video

I can understand them. I would hate to see myself on any video either and hate, when I have to listen into my own calls at work. I don't even read my own stories once I've finished writing them, because if I do I start question everything.

I honestly think it's a creative thing because I write and a lot of times once it's written (besides editing) I don't read my stuff either once it's done it's done. However I'm surprised by this list. Except Johnny Depp I knew that about him

I don't think it's all that unusal. I've heard of many actors who don't like to watch themselves. The same thing I've heard about many musicians not liking to listening to their own songs either.

I can understand it. I write and am constantly rewriting trying to improve. If you are in a movie, once it's a wrap, you can never change anything you may later see was not up to your current standards.

I've been a fan of Phoenix since Gladiator, he made me hated so much his character as a villain, loved his as the Joker as well, if he ever watch his movie could see how good he is in playing the evil

I always hear about actors and actresses who refuse to watch themselves.
Can a list be made about actors and actresses who do watch their own films? That be awfully interesting. Lol

Well it makes sense if it's a bad movie. Like I don't expect most of the cast of Batman and Robin (imho it's ok if you think of it as a comedy but it does go very far) to watch it.

I dont really blame any actors for not watching their own movies. I cant imagine that not wanting to watch yourself on a screen is an uncommon thing. I totally get it.

If I recall correctly, Gwyneth Paltrow said in an interview that she was present at an awards ceremony with no idea which movie was nominated. (It was Iron Man 2)

Its their choice. Whether they find it cringey or not, they are actors, just because they are making films, they dont necessarily mean that they should watch it.

I think most actors refuse to watch their movies. It is all about being self-conscious and thinking they should have acted differently and that the acting is bad!

I don't really blame these actors, I know that I'd at least be cringing whenever I saw myself on screen, I've always been very self conscious.
