get rid of the vu and find a slim enough keyboard that will slide in and out of that bottom 1u then you will have it fully enclosed, with the slce at the back you can have mounted some speaeklrs that are small enough to fold out or just have them internally on a second out put so there all there, def have a basic emualter pc fit in the back so you can run it with out having any external wires put power as an option, great buiild! make a v2 keep going with this idea

I found a neat tip. If you want to make your MIDI files sound like a Yamaha MU90 or a Roland JV 1010 you can use FL/LMMS studios and use the -Tyroland- Sound font. It-s a great way to hear MIDI instruments like the ones recorded onto early disc games like Sonic CD, FF7 or Street Fighter 3. It could be useful if you want to hear that old 90-s sound and your on a trip and far away from your MIDI sequencers

Replace the MidiThru box with Roland MKS-900, best Midi light show ever. Pricey and rare, but worth it. Regarding the Akai, it autosaves custom settings which messes things up. It's best to reset it manually whenever you switch games/players/etc. (Power off, then hold up and down buttons while powering on. Screen will show CLR)

I would replace the EQ with a technical pro DB-30. It's an audio level visualizer that doubles as a power strip. I use one in my hifi and plan to get another one for my rack. I have tried rack mounting it. So I don't know how well it fits. I am not sure if I even still have the rack mount ears. So I can't test the one I have.

Love the midi videos! For cable management, it's recommended you separate power from audio. If you can dress everything to the sides and then zip tie cables to the rack rails by going through the holes, that's a solution we use. Another method are some rack bars that go across horizontally that mount like the units themselves.

17: 42 - must have been a cheap case. Who still does these with fixed distance threads? Even low cost cases I find at my main supplier have tracks with sliding nuts and a rubber at the back to hold them in place while not tightened yet. No hassle at all with non-standard bore distances in the mounting brackets.

I was literally counting down the seconds before you played Grabbag on that monster. However, I refused to skip forward due to the quality level of this content. There is something truly magical about these hardware systems and how they generate music. Excellent videos as always.

Man every time I watch a video of yours I want to play around with the stuff that you are doing! You also got me thrifting for the first time! Thankfully I can manage the urge to go out and buy all of this stuff and be satisfied by living vicariously via your videos. :-)

1: 38 Wait, does that say -Rosebud! ;!; !;! ;!; !;! ;! - Don't forget to remember your Sims cheat codes!
27: 59 I prefer the SC-55 in this case. I have to agree with you on the fact that the piano is good on the SoundCanvas. 29: 53 You can somewhat hear an engine.

To be honest It would so satisfying for me to take a big huge rock and lift it high above my head and let out a huge caveman roar and smash all that MIDI crap to bits but I do like you so that's pretty much the only reason I watched the video. So yeeeeah their is that
