I've more or less given up on this game. You can try your hardest to make the most streamlined, efficient city possible, only to realize that no matter what you do, police, firemen and literally EVERYONE else are hell bent on going to the opposite side of the map to do whatever they are supposed to do, instead of dealing with what's happening right next door. Garbage piling up? Guess what the processing plants on the other side of the street are doing: Making sure their garbage trucks are stuck in traffic going to the far end of the city. Because that makes all the sense in the world. And why are just a fraction of all the service trucks in use? Because the game engine isn't able to cope with -that many trucks-. Meanwhile, every Tom Dick and Harry walking on the street can be zoomed in on in order to see their name, where they live and where they are going. Because that is important. I'm guessing they'd rather include what each citizen had for breakfast and if their bowel movements are regular, than fix resource management and ability to cope with enough vehicles. And take a wild guess if your specialized industry will get the goods they need from the warehouses next door? No, they will not - because everything is being exported. Bravo. Hunting down a myriad of mods to fix game mechanics that should work right out of the gate is not the way it should be.

Oh boy, haven't gotten into the video yet but I'm nervous based on the first comment. I've been considering buying Cities: Skylines for quite some time now, as the last city builder I bought was Sim City: Societies. I figured it was time for an upgrade as I've been wanting to get back into city builders. I've had Cities: Skylines on my wish list for a good while, and it finally went on sale a bit ago. I decided to pick it up, and being an aviation geek, I grabbed the airports expansion pack as well. Now I'm wondering if it was a worthwhile purchase. I suppose I'll see once I get through the video!
Edit: Oh boy, that choppy instantaneous 180 immediately upon takeoff. I think I can get past little things like that, as that's pretty common in city builders as far as I know. They don't fully simulate realistic vehicle movement.
Edit: Well some of those cons are a bit annoying. Luckily I got the pack on sale for only a couple of bucks. Maybe with some luck they-ll fix some of this and add some missing features in future updates.

The
Most of the -This chunk of content is boring to work with- was basically just describing city builders. Like -it doesn't work as well if you don't plan ahead, it's fiddly and. - Yes, that's a city builder. That's how this game works. -It's just a modular zone where you can. - Yes, that's cities skylines. That's how this game works.
I don't think I've ever seen you recommend a video game, or dlc. I gotta remind myself to not watch these, I already learned about the sims after you yourself admitted that you just don't like them in that one video. Like even most of the stuff that's a criticism that isn't -I just actually don't like city builders- is a bunch of -I decided these should be in the game and I'm dinging the game for not including it-.
And let's be real, it's a few hours of content per city for about the price of a big mac meal at McDonald's. -Worth it for the cost- is lifting a lot of weight when buying yourself lunch at work costs more money.

Hey Mr. Reviews. I would really love to see blurby thing video on your experience with Fry's Electronics, especially given its recent demise. This is something very close to me as my dad was with Fry's almost from day one. First as Director of Components, then of Merchandising and Operations and finally one of the VP's up until the doors closed. The Fry family was a major part of my life growing up and I spent a lot of time at the corporate office. I was so sad to see it go the way it did and I would love to hear your thoughts and what going to Fry's meant to you. If you want I could probably get you a convo with my dad if you wanted to get an insiders perspective. Anyways I love your content. Keep contenting that content with high quality content.

I very rarely use airports in my cities anyway. I only recently started using ferries. I've never personally flown and I have no idea how airports work so I feel like this would be an absolute waste of money for me and the way I play. I like the idea of the museum building (but yh would be nice if it had other stuff along side that building) but I thikn I would only consider buying this if it was like 50% off maybe during a sale at some point. Even then I still don't think I would make one of these big airports that the whole thing is designed around, even if I did own it and have access to the assets.

Yup. Harsh but fair.
I feel like the Airports DLC can use an update or two:
Taxiways could really do with some tweaking (Airports I worked at had two-way taxiways, for example)
Runways, as you said, could do with more functionality (crossing other runways or having multiple exits, for example)
Surface painter (I know it's available as a very good mod, but not everyone uses mods)
More integration with other aviation things.
Airshows? Military airbases?
It's nice that you can now build a modular airport, but this feels too constrained

Not allowing crossing runways, lack of pavement filler, and no car parks are my biggest issues. But overall it's a fun DLC, I got an extra 30 hours out of my city using it so I can't complain. I do feel $9. 99 would've been a better price point than $13. Another thing to note is it comes with double decker and articulated buses with higher capacity so those are helpful. Otherwise it is largely unnecessary, but I felt Campuses was too so it's about as useful as that since the base game already has you covered with default airports and colleges.

For some reason Paradox, and by extension Colossal Order, seems to be allergic to mixing DLC features. They-ll introduce a new feature that would work so well with a feature from another DLC, but they just- don-t link them at all.
This is SUPER obvious with the various types of public transportation in this game not getting new combo-stations with other transport stations from a different DLC. I get that not everyone buys every DLC ever for a game, but integrating the helicopter or blimp stop to an airport feels like a basic concept.

I love LGR's reviews. He always gives his honest opinion. I honestly like the modular system on everything, parks, campuses, airports, industries whatever. I'd like to even modulate car parks, cemeteries, commercial or residential zones. I find the assets and gameplay a bit lacking in this one. It's definitely not their best expansion pack. Hopefully this is because they're working on a sequel and didn't really focus much on these last 2 packs.

Sunset Harbor was allready pretty damn meh and the first Expansion, I didn't care enough about to buy, but I guess there was still enough there, if you were into it. But I don't see why you would pick that up, it seems so unneccessary and not worth it. It's quite a halfassed DLC, unfortunately.
I suppose they needed some quick Money to push forward the Developement of the Sequel, because the Studio couldn't be working 2 years on this DLC.
