What if George Orwell's 1984 Actually Happened? willy: i thought that Oceania had with the aid of 1 faction or the other defeated first their enemy and then their ally before the time of the story. they were bombing themselves (only in unimportant areas) to reinforce the idea they were at war still. if they were at war with Eurasia the cities of the British isles would be being bombed to splinters not just 1 bomb every few hours to days and only in the slums. Oceania alone would control the seas easily which would give them all the islands including Japan even if it were lost at first some how. if they ever were allied with either of the other factions they would have the only hard part of the war handed to them, landing on the Eurasian continent with sufficient force to start their push to final victory.
this is not in the book. the book supplies you with the official lie that the war is ongoing

I think that such a world order would easily disintegrate in about 40-50 years like the Eastern bloc and communist regimes in our timeline despite strong totalitarian control over the population, the biggest flaw of this world communism will be its economic inefficiency, poor living standards, and its anti-human nature, which will lead to the development of decentralized resistance movements in different parts of the world, where the central government of the regimes is weaker, which would grow into possible regional separatist movements that could affect negatively both Oceania, Eurasia and East Asia who are mostly at the fight against each other. The formation of third-world neutral states around the equator who act as mediators between 3 great powers could also change the world balance of power in this timeline.

3: 18 WIAH declares libertarian. Having seen several videos, got the impression he's not another Lefty, doubtful if standard Conservative. Myself, a big Murray Thorbard fan, believe the Libertarian position is nearly the highest moral and ideological position, a sign of well-educated and necessarily smart. Nearly because my own personal version is the best, of course.

As a student of linguistics and an admirer of history, 1984 freaking TERRIFIES me.
And the logic behind pushing Newspeak legitimately made me impressed and wanna vomit at the same time.
. Poor bastard though. Killed for legit advancibg such an evil language policy.
And sorry, but libertarian ideology sickens me to my core.
You do you though.

It sounds like after a hundred years, these states would weaken to the point where they would just lose control of the Middle East, North Africa and India to some new Caliphate-esque movement seeking to destroy all three regimes, and would lead to or begin funding religious rebellions of similar sorts within the other three states.

All three are communist. It ties into animal farm as well. Using their power and influence to control the masses. Using fake wars to have a never ending enemy. What's messed up how even in a fictional world, the middle east and Africa are just a pawns for resources and politics.

I am astonished that they keep the Christian Era reckoning. Real totalitarian dictatorships change the calendar first. Oceania would develop a fictional chronology stating they are the ancient empire of Atlantis being reborn after the dark ages of Christianity and Humanism.

My understanding for the reason of the book title 1984 was that Orwell wanted this to be a book about the future and the book was written in 1948. So Orwell just switched the last two numbers around and that was, from his perspective, the future.

In reference to the request at 3: 28 I will say Im in complete agreement mass surveillance and absolute control of a population is not in the interests of the proletariat and it will always be the will of the people to revolt against such structures

The countries only attack targets in the neutral zone, and Airstrip 1 is not a neutral zone
Rockets frequently attack prole houses but never hit the ministry buildings
