Indonesians traded with the Aborigines 400 years ago, they certainly knew of Australia but didn't care for its land, mostly because Australia is too hostile for any power to conquer it unless they were a great power.
Majapahit wasn't great.
Also integrating the aborigines is hard because their culture revolved entirely around taking only what you needed and nothing more. Any advancement would lead to over collecting resources and a subsequent starvation of that tribe. Only the anti-development cultures can survive in the harsh lands of Australia.
It's a great spot for ports, sure, but the aborigines would not develop a unique culture like the Swahilis on the Swahili Coast.
Northern Australia would also have been far more useless than South Africa. I could easily see the Dutch trying to offer all of Northern Australia and the Eastern half of South Africa so they could keep the western half.

It could have happened, but did not for perhaps the same reasons why the Dutch did not colonise Australia long before the English. They had come across the mostly Western Australia which is arid and did not believe it worthy of establishing a colony there. Abel Tasman did land [1642] and plant a flag on Tasmania, but for some reason the Dutch did not make good on their opportunity. Imagine if the did, we Australian would be speaking a dutch dialect, and our country would be New Holland.
The English were the first to discover the more habitable east coast.
Yet the were compelled to establish a colony due to the loss of the US Colony, they needed a place to send their convicts, and the french were showing an interest in Australia.

I think i kinda know why Javanese dont move much except for sumatra its because the geography look at Indonesia except for java since it had so much mountains much of it is a jungle rainforest and full of dangerous tribes especially borneo my home. Meanwhile Sumatera had for some trade geographical reason wealthy due to trade so many strong kingdoms came out of that and you should consider too that much of Indonesian culture especially Java at that time is influenced by India and we all know how Indians are less expansionist

Before invention of fertilizer, Java was the only viable and consistent agricultural land. It's so productive, because it's nutrients was supplied by many volcanoes there. And for why didn't Javanese went to south, there's a legend in java that south sea is possessed by demigoddess named Roro of the South. The legend is still well alive today, whenever there's accident in south java coast, peoples believe it was Roro of the South. The myth most likely caused/inspired by how big southern tides are.

North Australia would still remain under Indonesia. The Aboriginals would have a low population, and a Muslim mixed race minority would arise in Australia. Trade would never diminish, and just as Celebes and New Guinea remained under the Javanese boot, Northern Australia would as well since the Muslim minority would see themselves as Indonesians. Indonesian control wouldn't extend further than the northwestern corner of the continent

2: 55 the language & culture of Java is quite different from it's surrounding region. It's most likely for that reason Javanese didn't migrated to other islands so easily. It'd be like expecting Dutch to immigrate to Spain, Italy, etc. Even if there is any need to immigrate linguistic & cultural differences can often stop people from immigrating that easily. May be there are other reasons but I think this is quite possible.

We discovered the whole world before Europeans started moving. Western books mention that Columbus discovered America. It is not mentioned that He had seen a mosque in Cuba when he got there. He arrived in 1492
and the Muslims were expelled from Spain that year. The Spaniards wanted to keep their honor. Now that the Muslims were no longer in charge in Spain, the Spaniards were able to adjust this in the books

Basically the north would blend Muslim culture with aboriginal and have its own didstinc culture. Or thw mulims oppress the aboriginals. Then the south would be the same but instead have possibly an anglo-german culture. Aboriginals in their higher numbers may either intergrate into the culture or atleast have more representation
