What You Didn't Know about Ninjas

Are ninjas real? While they seem like a part of Japanese folklore, they are, in fact, real. While most people think of the ancient shinobi mercenaries as nothing but stealth assassins, in reality, they were a lot more James Bond than Sonny Chiba's Hattori Hanzo. Espionage was the name of the game. Cloaked in a variety of disguises, they infiltrated enemy territory to learn building layouts, swipe secret passwords, and spread misinformation. If need be, they were also up for sabotage, mainly in the form of arson

This whole video simply isnt quite the truth. Antony Cummins (a historical ninja researcher who studied at Meiji university) puts it is that there were around 3 different categories of shinobi. The farmer role was a myth. First category is the thief, often times warlords would send local thieves to break into houses etc to steal documentation. For this they would be rewarded handsomely, and if they happened to meet fate it would be of no harm since they were simply thieves. Dead weight to the army anyways. The second was the class of ninja known for their combat. Typically low ranking ashigaru or samurai that would be used to form night raids and carry out missions with force, the mercenary. The third and essentially the most valuable were the spies, men who would infiltrate enemy lines years prior to a war to learn the layout of the land and partake in spying, intel gathering, and covert operations etc. This video seems to be have a false idea of the ninjas history.

The whole Samurai looked down on the Ninja way' is just Hollywood crap, many Samurai also trained as and worked as Ninja such as Hattori Hanzo who was both a Samurai warrior and a Ninja assassin/Spy
Also not all Samurai or Ninja were born into being either, it was very common for peasants to become Samurai after proving themselves in battle, although they were never allowed to become high ranking Samurai, it was the same with Ninja like Hanzo who was born into being a Samurai but not a Ninja but was trained as one and often worked as one, many Samurai and peasants were adopted into Ninja clans and became Ninjas
True the shuriken was used mostly by Samurai they were also used by Ninja but not as much as portrayed in pop culture

The Shinobi no mono bypassed the nightingale floors by using the walking hand technique, by literally walking on their hands, placing their hands on their feet and slowly balancing across the floor without setting off the noise. The Shinobi also had a special diet and medical knowledge so they could be in the field for longer period of time. Sweets were prohibited due to that the scent could reveal them during night subterfuge. They were also very literal and schooled in religion and chemistry. Very versatile fighters. The last test was sitting in the pitch black amd staring at a candle to hone senses. I had the privilege to speak to historians in Japan and have a ton of books. Very interesting history.

Cover an episode of the European equivalent of the Ninja! In Germany at some point there were a group of individuals called the ghost Warriors and they were very very silent in operation and was feared by the Romans if I'm not mistaken? My history may not be accurate but I do know of such a group of people called the ghost Warriors that existed in ancient Germany using the night shade and the trees to conceal their attack and they were ruthless and highly-skilled

I recently watched an anime about samurais, and it explains the difference between a ninja and samurai. The anime was set during Edo period, it introduced the Oniwaban group, the Iga and Koga, they even had a character inspired from Hattori Hanzo. I'm not sure if the anime is accurate, but it stated that a samurai only fights for their master, while a ninja was free to choose who to serve as long as they can benefit.

How about this, the first straight long sword was made in the Tang Dynasty 618-907 AD!
So what Im saying is the ninja originated in China. Chinese ninjas would go to Japan and blend in getting secrets. After all that. The Japanese started using the ninja name. Cause it worked. Bruce Lee was Chinese. Who in Japan created their own system like Bruces jeet kun do. ? They stole it!

. Nin-Jitsu, the art of the Ninja wasn't a fighting-style.
. fighting was a rather small part of ninja-training.
. because if a spy has to fight for information, something went very wrong before!
. the best spy is that who's gone, before the enemy finds out that he was even here!

It is said that there's a current descendant named Jinichi Kawakami, and the only one surviving Ninjutsu master. He has chosen not to appoint a new Ninja Grandmaster and to let the lineage of the last surviving ninja clan die because the art of Ninjutsu has no place in the modern age.

The Japanese don't use plurals, so there's no such word as Ninjas, it's just Ninja or Samurai whether there's one or a thousand of them.

Theyre made up & never actually existed. you seriously believe there was no documentation about them before modern time
reply

Some facts but you are still using old information from anime and manga as a basis for reality. Need to do a bit of research.

I'd like to see a video about the average German citizen during the years immediately preceding WWII. (1933-1939)

Your historical research is really cool, but your pronunciation of most of the Japanese names and words is hilarious!

Why don't you do some videos on different native American warriors or warrior societies such as the dog soldiers
