In this video, we take a trip to the state of Washington to see some more Amtrak Cascades trains back when the trains were still being pulled by F59PHI locomotives! See the Cascades trains as they travel along the shores of Puget Sound and in the shadow of volcanic mountains in the Pacific ring of fire. These clips were filmed just before the Charger locomotives entered service, so you will see the standard Amtrak locomotives and cab cars of the time. Now let's enjoy some Amtrak Cascades trains passing through the scenic state of Washington! Ben: Could you make a video of each states trains because I know you already have California trains and Colorado trains but can you consider doing more states like Florida trains and Pennsylvania trains.

Well, it was fun while all that equipment lasted. The F59PHI locomotives have been replaced by SC-44 Chargers, the Series 6 Talgo sets have been replaced by more Series 8 sets, and the Non-Powered Control Units are being replaced by the built-in cab cars that the Series 8 Talgo sets have.

The horizon cars are tacky. They-re just not the same as Talgo Series VI. I-ll never travel on them. Superliner passenger cars are a lot better than the lame replacement horizon cars. Can-t change my mind.

Cool Video. Wonder what the P40/P42 locomotives would've looked like in the Cascades, Pacific Surfliner, and Amtrak San Joaquin/Capital Corridor paint schemes.

Did cascades ship all of their f59phi-s to Metra or did they keep some? Also are all f40ph-s on cascades cab cars or are there some that are powered?

Would you consider making a -Rocky Mountain trains- video? It would be a lot of work, but the outcome would be beautiful.
