I was wondering why Saturn was shut down, my aunt had a 92 Saturn 4 cylinder and the car was bullet proof, well at least until it was rear ended and totaled out by the insurance company in 2016. That car was her daily driver going back and fourth to work in busy busy Baltimore County freeway traffic. My grandparents owned a Saturn wagon, which had a (v6 (not sure) and that was a good car until my other aunt wreck it and of course it was totaled out, but both those cars were early-mid 90's cars and were solidly built and reliable cars.

We had a Saturn for 17 years, just got rid of it last year because we picked up a newer car but the Saturn still ran like it was new, sold it to a student for 1500. Had the 2. 2 ecotec, great on fuel. Saturn was a loss leader, they did not make that much money on the cars, the polymer panels were more costly to make than regular stamped steel panels. They discontinued the brand after the GM bailout along with Pontiac and Hummer brands. I would buy one if they ever came back, the plastic panels were great up here in Canada.

Saturn v6 are piles I had one in my daily 120k with proper maintenance and the rods started knocking I didn't really care about it so I just put 20w oil it made it to 150k never got lower than 220 degrees misfire on1. 5 cylinders and burned more oil than my 87 caprice with 250k with shot rings and valve seals now it sits in my backyard and it will be my nephews cars if he fixes it he can have it

Hey scotty I have a 2005 nissan pathfinder, 310, 000 kms, I lost reverse gear but forward still works like butter after changing the transmission oil. Most likely the solenoids are bad any other thoughts? I took it to a transmission shop and they said it would cost upwards to 3000 dollars. Uhh truck is not worth close to that anymore damn nissan jatco transmission

If they're incorrectly built, yes. (Shows picture of FRAM filter box)I'm left confused. Since when has FRAM been associated with poor quality construction? I've used them my entire young adult life and always gotten >220k out of my vehicles. And, when those care went kaput it wasn't because of excessive wear in the engine, but something like the frame rusting out, etc.

Hey scotty. I own a 2009 Nissan murano and has almost 185k miles. It seems to run great. I bought it last year when it had 176k miles. I'm not sure of the history of its maintenance but should I change the transmission fluid and keep it for a while? Should I sell it because it has not lost much value yet and I dont know if there are any major expenses hiding?

In short, the problem with Saturn was the people responsible for designing the GM Passlock security system with 28 gauge wire attached to low quality ignition cylinders, which in turn connected to buggy BCMs, moved up the corporate ladder to Saturn management, and worked their magic there for one last time putting another car company out of business

Problem Solved. Get an electric vehicle. No oil filter. no oil changes, no dripping on the floor. The oil in the gear box (single speed, no transmission) never needs changing. The first recommended service on my Chevy BoltEV is after 150, 000 miles you're supposed to change the cooling fluid. The cooling system is not pressurized and operates at low temps.
