Hyundai Sonata - No A/C Compressor Clutch Operation

Mine was working when I added the refrigerant a couple days ago then the compressor just stopped working on the way home from work. I found someone put a male/female connector between the wires and the compressor plug and the wire burned off on one side. I replaced the connectors and hooked them back up and no power. Checked the connector with a test light and no power to the plug. The relay's clicking taking it in and out of the fuse block so it's working. Fuse is also good. Still no power to the plug. 2001 Saturn tho. I can hook the compressor up direct and see if it comes on and go from there I guess. At least that would confirm the clutch is at least still comes on. Sometimes you had to wiggle the relay to make it come on. Something in the fuse block would be wrong or loose to cause that. I tried changing out the relays and still does it. It also has a different pressure switch as well so I wouldn't think that would be it, tho possibly. That would keep the compressor from having no power.

Watched you while looking at mom's car. Already checked fuse and swapped starter relay for ultimate check. Without your fancy scantool, but your brilliant hypothesis and your findings of the correct resistance, the only other thing I could think to do was check the positive battery terminal that was shielded by a plastic cover. I lifted the cover to find massive corrosion and burnt plastic. Installed new terminal and the compressor is behaving. Will get a good voltmeter next just to check amperage. My problem is a bit more complicated. A/C Relay's socket/base doesn't have a proper ground on the control coil. One pin gets a proper 14V, but the other one is not grounded, therefore it cannot switch the AC compressor. The executive 14V to the AC compressor link is fine and if shortened, AC works. Does it mean my ECU is fried? (Same Hyundai Sonata, but 2. 4l, NF model)

U know, i really appreciate the clarity of how u explain ur videos. U dont have any uuhh uh and uhh, no useless camera angles and views, u dont fill with time with deep opinions about things u hate while doing ur work. 2012 sonata. Air was cool but not sufficient. Bought a refill can, added some, air completely went hot never to blow cold again. I heard hissing inside the car, can't hear the compressor kick on either, hissing did eventually stop. Did i completely fk myself and my air conditioning system?

One day they will make a tester that tells the mechanic EXACTLY what is wrong with the car without doing alot of testing. Maybe it could also order the parts from the cheapest supplier and tell the mechanic what tools needed etc!

Same car, installed a new serpentine belt, now my ac is blowing out hot air. Tried to refill the Ac with a can, and it wouldnt take it. checked the fuses, nothing blown. Im not sure what to do now. any info would help! Thanks

One thing that a lot of people dont seem to understand. Wiring is sized according to the total maximum current draw of all devices on that circuit. Fuses are sized to protect the wire, not the device.
