Im working on a project, restoring a 1997 dodge Dakota 4x4 with a magnum 318. The engine and transmission are great but everything else is what need to be restored. The truck was bought with a 6 suspension and a 3 body lift 35 super swampers is there a heavy duty or extreme strength front axle bearing that i can find to fit my truck. I have looked around all everyone is doing is throwing 2. 5 ton axles under neath with custom fames but none are street legal. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and time.

The brake pad looked relatively new they may have done a brake job with it and charged drive away costs. Jeep stealership charged my daughter 3 times what a front brake job would be here when she was driving through Mass and front end started bouncing on her. They saw a teenage girl wanting to get home and Dad's credit card. If I would have trailered out there to get it it would have cost me about as much to go get her, but still they way overcharged. Even the expensive jeep dealership close to me said they way over charged.

I used to have a 95 2WD Dakota with the 3. 9 and it never really felt under powered unless I had it so loaded up that the rear end sagged. But when they went to that body style, they must have either added 1000lbs to the truck or lost about 50hp because they really do feel gutless.

On my 02 dakota, the inner shaft is shot (splines are shot. Do I pull the differential cover to pull a c-clip to get it out? or do I put a pair of vise grips on it. And tap the vise grips to pull it out?

One thing that ponders my mind. My dad has a 2005 Dakota 4x4 V8 and the front driveshaft always stays engaged. But on my 2003 2500HD and my previous S-10 4x4 the front shaft spins freely when in 2wd.

Sounds like a scene from National Lampoon's Vacation at the intro. I hope they have regional book rates otherwise you are getting cheated considering the rust you do battle with.

I LOVE it! At 6: 42 someone says DaDa, and his entire tone of voice changes. Eric is such a father, that is his _real_ job. He just fixes cars as a sideline.

My door sticker says 3/00 so would my Dakota 4x4 have the cv shaft with the groove 1/2 inch from the end or the deep one?

I hope he threw it in the original shops face. 700? Crazy for a shaft. Hope he went back to talk direct with that guy.
