What a down grade from the original discovery. Great sell them a freelander & make them think their getting something more. Which is merely going on the image the old discovery gave.
Don't be fooled people this is a blinged up freelander. Forgot to mention that this also now makes the range rover more of a premium car which is what land rover intended. Toyota watch this space I'm moving in. (When I'm finished with my discovery 3 that is.

I don't understand why vehicle manufacturers keep trying to push the idea that these little AWD minivan/crossover looking things as off road capable vehicles, the people that buy these things don't offroad so why try so hard, why not just show how many soccer balls you can fit in it or how many groceries it can fit or how easy it is to put a carseat in it maybe show how fast you can wipe shit from a poopy diaper off the floor mats LOL!

-best in class off road performance-! hahaha the Cherokee Trailhawk will rip this to shreds, for a cheaper price and a much more premium interior, better HP, geometric angles, low-range 2 speed transfer case and a true lockable rear axle. and all that fully loaded for about $41K CAD. not sure about USD or other.

+David Whittaker I see your point and am relieved to hear that the -real- Disco will not be replaced. However, why the mixed up branding? I'm sure by continuing to use the Discovery moniker it is going to cause confusion in the market place.

A shame LR fell so much behind in Audio- GPS and interactive devices! I think the offroad capabilities aren't a big selling point anymore, these times seem over. and then they put this 20 year old engine in it. sooo disappointing!

i hear breaks down, check engine light, and requires service with a scan tool because a sensor got wet. I wonder what happens when the computer gets wet when it goes through flood waters.

Exterior is pretty nice. interior not so much. Way to -basic- for such a premium vehicle. the interior alone would keep me from buying this vehicle. A shame.

STILL waiting for someone to give these a thorough off road test, not expecting miracles but it would be nice to see where it's -Capability- limits would lie.
