My biggest travel annoyance is going through airline security and having to throw things out because it doesn't comply,
Some countries only allow 10 items at 100 mil such as tooth paste, cosmetics, ,gels or powders etc
At the Sydney, my tooth paste was 110 mils so they took it off me and London airports was even stricter where I was told to put the items into an even small clear plastic bag and they took items off me because they would not fit into the bags Lots of people at the London airport were losing their cosmetic etc because they had more than the small limit they can take on to the air plane.
Regarding public toilets, a lot of countries make a lot of money out of tourists so they should at least provide free public toilets
. The best public toilets, I have seem are in the state of Tasmania Australia, they are free, they are very clean, spacious, soundproof and private and each comes with a private wash basin

Regarding #1, yeah, we experienced something like that once while we were in Japan. Half way through the day, we got caught in a monsoon. It delayed our bullet train. It was meant to get us to Tokyo from Nagoya by 6pm so we could check out the surrounding area before getting dinner and then heading back to our hotel for bed.
But our train, while we were on it, was delayed so many times, for so long, we got to Tokyo at 11: 30pm.
Oh, we were NOT happy, having been stuck on the train for that long, so we just grabbed McDonald's in the train station, took a taxi to our hotel, showered and went to bed. only for the next morning being perfectly clear and sunny, as if the weather the previous night never happened.
Oh, ho ho, I was pissed at the weather

Heres a story about a little annoyance that ended up working out in my favor. In the early 2000s, I went to London with my brother. I applied via the US Embassy for passes to see the British House of Commons. When we arrived at the Palace of Westminster, security told us Parliament was not in session that day. Then, they told us to come back the next day and they would do their best to get us in. It turns out the next day was the opening of the new session of Parliament. So, we got to see the Prime Minister and other party leaders debate the UK governments legislative program. It would have been impossible for us as Americans to get tickets for that day if wed asked, so we were really lucky.

In Paris we bought a Paris City pass and we got to bypass a lot of ticket lines with it. The museums are about the only places with a free clean restroom. Even some restaurants did not have a restroom. I paid 3 to use a clean restroom where the business was literally just restrooms. They had signs in multiple languages saying clean restrooms this way. I had to buy a drink at a coffee shop and on my receipt had the code to unlock the restroom. They had pay public toliets on the streets but they were disgusting. Stores and many tourist sites did not have bathrooms.

In Taiwan, servers don't make good money. Customers are not supposed to tip.
In fact, the owners would round down bill.
If the bill is 423 Taiwanese dollars, the owners would glad to accept 400. If it is 495, there is no roubd up.
Two things need to be done in Taiwan, no round down.
Increase Taiwanese wages including servers.
No need to include tip system in Taiwan
The tip is supposed to be extra bonus but subsidize to salary Like USA

Another great tip for avoiding the line is to GO EARLY! For about 15-30 minutes, You dont have to spend a couple bucks and the queue will be the same or even less than if you go later in the day and pre-book the ticket, which can get much more expensive if reserved from foreign countries.
reply

If i see a queue of people at a point of interest like madame tussaud at london or the guiness hop store in dublin, i leave the moment i recognize the queue. For the example of the guiness hop store, i made the experience, that there are days, where is no queue of waiting people.

It seems like some of these annoyances may be relieved with one word: RESEARCH! If youre likely going to spend a boatload of money going somewhere, why not do your homework? I find the more I research and plan a trip, the more excited I become for said trip! Do. Your. Homework.

In San Francisco I was so annoyed about Columbus Day. I had no idea that such a bank holiday even exists. Millions of people everywhere. You could not move back and forth. Every parking lot in the bay area was jammed. Everybody starred in the sky watching the flight show.
