As an old retired guy, my experience has been that a moderate exercise plan you can sustain over the long term is better than an optimized exercise plan that you can only sustain for weeks or months at a time. The human body is capable of functioning well and building muscle over a wider range of conditions than many videos imply. I think most people would be better off determining their long term goals before they start an exercise plan and then developing a plan that supports those goals. Be realistic in setting exercise goals. If your goal is to be healthy over the long term, you don’t need to optimize every aspect of your life toward maximum muscle hypertrophy. If you’re working full time, are married, and have young kids, you’re probably not going to have the time to workout like an elite athlete. That doesn’t mean you can’t exercise, look good, and be healthy. Moderate exercise over long periods can build great results.

Yeah, you can keep adding weight when you first start, but at some point, you can't keep adding weight every week or even every month. If you could, we would all be benching 500lbs lol. Your body has limits and sometimes you are as strong as you are going to get, unless you start taking PEDs or gain a lot of weight. It doesn't really matter if you an bench 200 or 300 to be honest. Unless you play sports that require a lot of stength or lift really heavy things for a living.

You had a lot of valid points i had never considered. Another thing to remembering you try to log accurate records of progress. To see whether you have improved over a given period, you must keep your order of workout consistent. This will not affect growth or strength, but it does affect record keeping. Going to failure on an intense lat pulldown routine, will affect how well you perform your curls afterward and vice versa.

My progressive overload is adding 2 pounds of weight to every exercise every two weeks. Same amount of sets, same amount of reps. If I can’t pull out the reps, I stay there until I can. This works for me. I know one day it will max out just like it does for everyone, but in some exercises like lat pull downs I’ve gone up over 50 pounds. To me that’s a lot! I’m 53 years old. Do what works for you

Love the videos, I learn something on each one. In the past two years, I have changed and didn't realize how tired and weak I was before I started. I am 66 this year. The diet, supplements and routines have made me leaner and stronger. From 230 to 180, 32% body fat to 22%. The Hume Body Scale is fantastic way to keep track of the progress. Thank you for all you do. (And she likes it too)

Here is the truth guys.
Train hard
Eat right
Rest
You will grow.
All this mumbles jumble wasn't around 20 years ago but the boys got great results.
Each influencer coming up with their theories, yet we succeeded without these theories for a long time.
And before I forget, gear is the top producer of muscle growth. Prove me wrong

I like your points but you keep framing things as a competition with other men. Separate yourself from others your age. More jacked than 99% of guys your age Like I'm just trying to be healthy - I'm not trying to be a competitive bodybuilder. And I don't walk down the street sizing up every guy and thinking if I look better than him etc.

I am being flooded with these videos about differences as you get older. I am 52 and still have the same energy to train as usual. I have been more careful to avoid injuries but I feel that the differences are overemphasised and this mentality can actually hold you back.

I think this guy's has been an AI for a long time. He just looks the same on every video and the way he speaks is so lifeless, I cant pay attention for more than 30s
