It's not astounding, that these GPU even the high end from Nvidia struggle for 4k60 with very high volumes of ray tracing. It's a mathematical monster at even 1080p, let alone 4k. That 4x the pixel count is already a task in itself to fluidly render without effects such as RT. So I think people's expectations were too high and Techlands game hardware requirements too optimistic. I will wait for a sale on this game, and maybe given time they can optimize the RT without impacting on its quality.

My good, only pleebs care so much about hitting 60.
Just use gsync/freesync, and it dosnt matter anymore if your a bit below 60, i would rather run unlocked in the 70-140fps range, and get low ms/good response times in most cases anyhow. + raytracing for anything non 3090 shouldnt really be considered viable in the first place, simply to manny compromisses to hit high fps with it on. and in most games it dosnt look that much better anyhow.

This goes for the rx480, rx580, 5500xt, 6500xt, gtx1060, gtx980 and the gtx1650s if you want 60fps on medium to high settings you'll have to turn FSR quality on or lower the resolution 1600x900p I recommend 900p because FSR doesn't have the ultra quality preset yet and the quality preset might be a little to blurry for most.

I believe the starting area is one of the most intensive areas. If you were at villador, or the central town the fps would be higher. Hopefully the optimization gets better because even my 1080 sits at like 85% usage causing me to get less fps then it would if it was more optimized.

rx 6500 xt for me its cheap and available i dont need ultra settings and 100fps to enjoy gaming and thx for all the hate reviews.
and all these nvidia fan boys are running amd cards with dx 11 not dx 12 so the tests arnt accurate everyone knows amd cards run better in dx12.

Really Adam? Get some zombies onscreen in the city and explosions rather than a bunch of static trees. You should have played into the game a bit. The biggest slowdowns are when lots of moving characters are onscreen.

I stay over 60fps always, no framerate issues with my sapphire 6700xt and a Ryzen 5600x at 1440p on high quality, RT off, field of view max out.
Why can't you get 60fps stable?
