i bought a xbox series x and game pas ultimate as its the cheapest way to get 4k gameing and games, its great, i do have a 5900x pc with a 1070 amp extreme butthe xbox is a upgrade and wow love instant rusum thingy. i will not go rwith nvidia from cloud as i have hated the price rises for a mid ranged 1070 then 2070 before the corona viruse and i simply dont want to invest in that company in cloud gameing. ill stick with xbox as long as they let me keep all my games and alow them to run on all future platforms. the moment they dont ill go to piracy and get the games for free. lets hope they dont and keep backwards and cross platform gameing as i dont mind paying for games or game pass. fallen order on my 9i yoga 14 inch with no gpu was awsome experience.

On the DOS game question, one of my favorites was Strife. There's a great Ross's Game Dungeon video on it. I love hybrid FPS-RPG games, and that was one of the earlier ones.
There's a remade version (Strife: Veteran Edition) thanks to Nightdive that's even available on the Switch, as well as on GOG and Steam. Would be neat to see it in a Steam Deck vs Switch comparison.

Great podcast, but please upgrade/optimize your audio. The volume levels are not consistent and it sounds like Brad is using the mic of a cheap $20 gaming headset. If you guys were just regular dudes hanging out doing a podcast then the above wouldn't matter. But since you guys are professionals in the tech space, these things matter.

If you think Pandas don't deserve to exist. check out Koalas man. Their brains literally almost smooth. It only has 2 or 3 wrinkles per half. They've evolved to digest this toxic plant called eucalyptus that nothing else can eat. If you take leaves and out them n a plate, they won't recognize it as food. Hate those things lol

I haven't played any flat games since my Index arrived. VR is the future, I don't know what's the matter with these guys. That said I can't play vr in bed or on the couch or on a plane so I can't wait for steam deck.
Ps. It feels like fortnite is for kids and I don't think the steam deck is marketed to children.

The problem with Stadia was the game pricing scheme not the technology. Having to buy a game you already own is not going to work for the majority of gamers especially when you don't really own it in the long run because you can then only play it on Stadia. It's really more like a long time rental of a game.

Steam Deck. Yawn. On a side note, you guys don't know anything about quantum physics. And FYI, if a tree falls in the forest, it does not make a sound because there was no tree. The simulation is only going to draw that tree if someone is looking at it. //reptilian overloads>>

Honestly, hope the operating environment for the Steamdeck doesn-t call attention to the fact that it is underpinned by Linux at all.
The best way for it to succeed is to just turn on and do the thing for non-techies and their kids, without a hitch, and without tipping its hand.

Is it a Handheld PC or a Console? Yes.
The Mac is a Personal Computer, abbreviated PC. The x86 Windows computers are PC (based on IBM PC branding) computer. They're both Personal Computers. One is calling tissues as tissues and Kleenex(tm) as Kleenex(tm) Brand tissues.

I'm with Gordon on the Steam Deck. I think it's going to be pretty niche. A lot of people saying it's cool, but then those same people will say they don't really have use for it (I'll just play on my desktop and not gaming when not home.
