The Most Unique Laptop - My New Daily Driver - Chris Titus Tech Here is my new daily driver in the mobile space. You'd be hard-pressed to find something better and more versatile Leon: Overclock? laptop AMD > Intel ???
my normal AMD mobile laptop = 15 Watt OC to run constant 25 Watt
sudo -/RyzenAdj/build/ryzenadj fast-limit=30000 slow-limit=25000 stapm-limit=25000
also you need to replace your cpu compound with liquid metal,
If my laptop came with a better heatsink, I could push it to 30-35 Watt constant.
Mine is a standard 3500u Acer laptop, with cooling meant for 15watts, single small heat pipe.
without liquid metal and ryzenadj standard AMD laptop will boost to 25 or 30watt, but few seconds later when its gets too hot
it will slow it down to around 15 watt = load = 1.5 ghz on all cores
OC Im able to run and constant 25 watt = load = 2.8 ghz on all cores

Man, I'm actually kinda lost now what distro to use. I really like manjaro, but update totally broke my laptop for while. When I booted, screen just stayed black. I couldn't even go to command line or recovery. I could go to bios f10, but at some point even that didn't work. Then for some reason it let me in, I rolled back kernel to recommended one and then kept on using system for while normally, (I didn't shut down pc as it was laptop), then I got again some new updates and pc went to same state it was.
Now I'm kinda scared of using manjaro, and I really just don't want to go on rabbit hole of trying to figure out what went wrong. So I think I'm just going to go back to good old mint :D

As a musician that does a lot of DJ work. I need a mobile laptop that can power an audio workstation, Lighting software, and live video software. I'd prefer to do this with one computer for simplicity. I love my mac but I don't like depending on them. So Chris, do you think this is a good option for somebody like me? Or should I chain multiple macs together to delegate processing power?

9:10 As an owner of an Optimus laptop, I can say it's a PITA to use it on Linux. Optimus support is TERRIBLE, as everything Nvidia-related on Linux. But I don't know if nowadays a laptop with an AMD GPU would be any better, I've also had a bad experience with them in the past. I guess it's just about choosing the lesser of two evils.

6:17 I look for the widget with shortcuts, but I can't find what to use in the video. I search google 5 hours. Don't find anything. I'm not good at linux or KDE. I just want to know which widget show shortcuts or cheat sheet on desktop like video display. I really really want to know, please.

This is friggen awesome. If I get another laptop I think it will be one of the kFocus ones. I love the terminal cheat sheet and the preinstalled apps. I am not the greatest at Linux; I don't use it regularly, however I am getting fed up with the crappy things Micro$oft is doing to Windows.

Hi Chris, just a question, how is Linux performing with pro audio? I don't hear anything (or read) much about Linux vs Pro Audio devices, like on FW or thunderbolt? Thanks. If you don't want to answer, I'll understand.
