The Future of Online Video - YouTube, Vimeo, LBRY, Floatplane or Other - Chris Titus Tech
video description
I would LOVE LOVE if there were open source nonprofit online video platform that would have the functionality of Patreon (which is again, horrible company with censoring and zero support). I don't know if this would be even possible, but damn, I would support that project heavily if it would happen.

LBRY! Please reconsider. Censorship is always leading to pathology (abuse, corruption). People are not healthy, so they upload unhealthy content. We have to deal with it (help people heal), not censoring them. If you are feeling bad (feeling heavy) you actually need to scream. Screaming easies the pain. If someone makes a disturbing video - he/she askes for help. Censoring is ignorance. We have to help this person, not ignore the problem. Becoming healthy (feeling light in the body) is not very hard. Please see dr. John Bergman and Sadhguru.

Not super related, but you talked about Patreon's business model, so here goes... I used to watch videos from an obscure band called Pomplamoose on YouTube, some years ago. Then they stopped producing videos for a while. Eventually, Jack Conte popped up and said -sorry for the lack of videos, i've been busy creating a little thing called Patreon.- I was gobsmacked. This musician and his partner were a band I was really into, and he was responsible for so many content creators finally getting paid for their passions. What a guy.

The new moto from now on should be -follow me in groups of three.-
three social media three video platforms three payment processors ect -JUST like IT data back ups and redundancy. it allows for TOS changes for the creator to use the other two sites and the creator +viewers to decide If the one site or service is -superior- or too draconian and deploying bad practices Ect . that way every thing long term goes smoothly and everyone can be happy
problem solved and we can all get on with life.

Very good video! When Youtube someday goes away (and it will), alternatives should already be in place. I'm looking for INNOVATION. What is the next step beyond Youtube? I hope it will be a fully de-centralized solution where no corrupt big data corporation sells its users info to others. It could be a payed solution, it will usually keep the quality of the content higher, since you pay for the stuff. Let's build a system for the people, by the people!

Nice entrance Chris. Made me laugh lol thanks for that. Can't wait for the parachute entrance from above. I love youtube too. I've used it to learn and, for fun. Around the 4:10 mark it was like you were giving what we call here in the UK:- The Vicky. A sort of reverse victory sign or peace sign and it's quite rude lol. I wasn't offended. Just sayin'.

Have a disagreement with your statement regarding distributing content, YouTube is owned by Google which is why it appears first in a search. When you distribute to other platforms, you help expand that platform. remember...you went to Brave browser for a reason. Expand your content to as much -magazine stands- as possible.

With YouTube censoring content creators that have ideologies which go against what they believe it is my hope that whatever future platform is created that it will be one that is fair and not focused on censoring differing points of view.

I'm glad you mentioned blockchain media sites. LBRY is good, but the most useful ones I've used are Steem and DTube. And why don't you simply post your content on these platforms? How much more difficult would it really be?
