Variable weather and frozen wood slows down progress as I frame in the breezeway/mudroom on my off grid log cabin. pondgazer: Hello Shawn from Camp Snot Otter in West-Central Pennsylvania. It's always uplifting to watch the progress unfold. I'm so happy to put aside world events for a while to watch you and learn. Spring is less than 3 weeks away so be on the lookout for Spotted Salamanders, Spring Peepers and Wood Frogs migrating to their vernal pools. Enjoy every little moment. Cheers!

SHAWN JAMES I am proud to see you do this WORK it is so GREAT TO KNOW THERE ARE MEN IN THIS WORLD who Know how to work with their HANDS! KEEP ON A GOING SHAWN! Make a Dutch Door for this Cabin also it will help you on out in the summer months with flies get some screen for the top part for you! Winter time it will be great to just let some air into the cabin on a much needed breath of fresh air for you!

I truly envy you Shawn James now more than ever. As you briefly touched on in a recent video, this country is going down a bad path and self reliance is more important than ever. Truly wish I had what you have. You are one of the most productive person I've ever seen. You inspire alot of people and alot of us live vicariously through your videos. Thank you Shawn James.

SHAWN & OUR CALI how are you doing? Looks like you got SNOW up there! Would like some of that snow right now to keep my freezer meat from unthawing! Well we can't have everything in life! But got a refrigerator coming tomorrow for myself that will help me on out! Look at OUR CALI she is tired on out I think I know how she feels that is how I feel also!

you could frame out a hole 2d floor rooms on each end cathedral celling with a walk way connecting the two the middle room could even be widened with the hole square feet and do giant dormers and leave the the middle as a cover deck roofs over connecting rooms on other side. is the other cool design

Your video just popped up for me and I am enjoying an escape from the ongoing issues in the world. Thank you very much I wish I could build one of these myself at the moment, I just want to get away from all the other people.

Looks like it's coming along nicely. I know you can't wait until spring gets here. It's supposed to be in the high 70's in Tennessee today. You have a ways to go as far north as you are. Stay safe and dry my friend!

Great to see the pine marten Shawn. Progress is steady, great job with all that snow. Keep hearing spring is around the corner, but it seems like a long corner. Just saying. Hi to your wife, she s a wonderful lady.

Amazing (or not) how far you have come with this cabin
. and in freezing temperatures. in deep snow
. and working all alone.
Self reliance doesn t get anymore self reliant than that!
