Wild Turkey and Northern Pike at the Cabin, Hunting and Fishing in Canada

Hunting and fishing from a log cabin in Canada. Poitiers28: No thanks on the wild turkey. Hunting license expense, gutting, plucking the endless amount of feathers and then doing it all over again plucking the down feathers with pliers. It takes forever and it's tedious. Then after that's all over you have to find all of the tiny bird shot in the flesh and gouge that out. Of course there are the skin peeling and down feather burning cheats. Then you might as well cheat and just buy the frozen turkey at the supermarket.

I know you've answered this question before, but I can't find the video (You have a lot lol. Where abouts in Ontario did you purchase this land? I've been searching for a while for some land in an unorganized township, but Parry township is one of the only areas I can locate some, and the pickings are really slim right now.

Hi Shawn, like your fishing gear. Is that a Shakespeare Rod and is that a Zebco 750 reel. I was in BC for 30 years. Now Kitchener. Lots of fine trout and dolly fishing in the Kootenays. Then yes also the salt chuck. Enjoy your vids and been watching from time to time. Well done on all aspects, Thanks

Hi Shawn,
Mulching of the garden bed would have a massive impact in your gardens ability to retain moisture and become self reliant itself. Mulch anything from leaves to wood, anything to cover the exposed soil to dehydration and nutrient loss. Just a thought, still amazing work.

for anyone living in the united states and believes it is ok to require a being to pay a fee for identification in order to go catch their food in the wilderness, how can you call that being free?

Another great video. Awesome scenery and relaxing music. I think I could live there, but I am not sure about eating mushrooms and only having an outhouse lol! Thanks for sharing your life! :)

Sorry Shawn maybe this has been asked but where do you store your excess food. For example ample pike? Do you have refridgeration? What do you do in Summer?
reply

I'm not familiar with up north fish as I'm from Florida. That pike kinda looks like a Gar. Are they full of bones with little meat like a Gar?

someone caught the fish for you. when you put the fish in the boat, your fish did not move. they were caught a long time ago
