I notice that you said you were having problems with the recurve bow and getting game.
I have shoot since i was six years old, but a few yesrs ago found i had problems with both shoulders were the rotsry cuff had broken away.
This ment that i could not shot anymore, or at least not with a bow.
I have tried crossbow but admit to being not very good with this.
A few months ago i saw an add for Begiman air bow on you tube.
The arrow sits over a tube that is almost the same length as the arrow and has like an o ring at the base in which the arrow seals itself.
Powers by a storage bottle of air, giving about six shots per charged bottle, it has the ability to shot a good distance, is caccurate and very easy to handle, ,lplus being more than comfortably to carry, and is powerful so very good for large game.
It can also be fitted with a good scope so ideal for hunting.
They are made in tbe U. S.
Regretably here in Australia you would need a licence for it but i think is still treated as a bow in the states and Canada.
I thought i would mention this as it sounds like it might be glood the have from your point of view, its not heavy and clearly easy to maintain, it will drop a bear or bisson which says a lot about its stopping power.

I really enjoyed this video and had to watch it gain. It was great for me to hear you talk about the part about being proficient with your gear. In too am a traditional bow hunter so I can totally relate. The one thing I wish you would have shown, is the dressing and processing of the deer. Maybe in another video. This just adds to the reality of all parts to living off the land and being self reliant.

Man oh man, I feel completely useless when I see all of your skills that would probably take me a whole lifetime to learn. Everyone especially now that they plan on putting us all under the 5g grid would greatly benefit to know even half of your skills which are well needed in order to live off grid.

Missing deer with a bow - been there, done that! I used a Bear Kodiak recurve shooting instinctual. Went to a compound and never ha d a shot. I really liked the recurve.
