Old Draw Knife - RESTORATION
video description
could be a new series were I bring old tools back to life. It has nothing to do with the log cabin series, only that some tools might be featured. Next video will be a normal episode of me working in the forest on the log cabin series. Let me know your thoughts on this series in the comments. I have some nice axe heads that could be next.
If you're new check out my Swedish Log Cabin series were I build everything by hand!
Thank you.

Erik nice job. Came out great! I am a big believer in restoring old tools also. I am 66 and have inherited two generations of tools and have maintained them the way you are. I think its neat to keep old tools alive and at the same time you have a chance to rework them to fit you. May times I have reworked handles to fit my own hand, some were to large or small. So yes I like these as well. Great work.

I would love to see how you restore old tools. I have a love for old tools and furniture. You are an inspiration of a young person and how all of us should be. All the best to you.
Is this the draw knife you used in taking the bark off the trees for your cabin? I love this piece!

Good job! Yes, I'd watch you restoring tools, and some of the tools you will likely show will be new to the audiences in the USA! Many of the tools the Swedes use, we've never seen or heard of! Of course we probably have our versins of them but, it would be good to learn more!

I'm really enjoying the cabin build series, and would also love to see more videos like this as well. I'm learning so much from you and can't wait until I can get some tools of my own. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill with us.

Again, seriously impressed. Though how the handles stay in without a securing nut at end is beyond me!
I sense a lifetime of teaching by someone who knows. Grandfather? But well done taking in the knowledge and putting it to work! :-)

dude its a draw blade, the handles are going to pull off the first time to put it to hard use. you didnt make it like it was originally. the metal had nubs at the far end of the handle to keep it locked on.

Yes please!
Aslo tell us what kind of stuff you are using and why, and where to get it.
I love old, smart powerless tools.
(In info, not in video.

You using a log as tool station voor sawing make me wonder. Do you own a vise? Any way good idea for a series. Edit: my first question answered itself

Kinda ironic that it would have been nice to have a draw knife to shape those handles. Still nice job on the refurbishment of this draw knife.

I have seen some draw knives I would love to do that on. If only I could find one for a price I could justify to myself.
Looks great btw
