Off Grid Log Cabin Build Starts Again! Only Hand Tools 13 - One Man Traditional Log Cabin series
video description
This allows the maximum amount of taxes to be collected while giving the false sense of ownership.
Building a house right now, we have about 25000$ in permits and cap fees (water/sewer) before breaking ground as well as a list of specifications the house must meet.
Above all this, motivation, willingness and ability limitations of most today's younger generation is evident that this is a lost skill.
Truly sad as it is inspiring hope that it is at least continuing in another part of the world.

maybe you addressed this elsewhere, but what is in the tent? Is that where you store your tools? It seems like your family home isn't that far from your build site, so I don't imagine that you are camping in the tent. just curious: ) I am thoroughly enjoying your calm, steady work habits. Both my grandfathers came to Canada at your age - one from France and one from Norway. Neither could speak English and were looking to build a homestead. They both were great craftsmen with wood as well. I imagine they had the same drive you display to succeed in their endeavors. Others have said it, and I feel it too - it is so relaxing to watch you build your dream, thank you for letting us come along with you

I really like the new subtitles. I saw you eating lunch. I was wondering about what you normally eat on the job? I imagine that all the work uses a lot of calories. So what do you normally eat? Also wil we see any more of the dog? What breed is it? How old is that tractor and what is the manufacturer? It seems like an old tough machine. The kind they don't make anymore.

I just found out what your vblog is about. I appreciate your skills and your determination of finishing. When I was 16 my mother and father bought land in Alaska. We moved there the next spring, and started felling trees for the next spring. Then we built our home of logs and miss and mostly love. Good luck to in all of your venture's.

At 72 can not imagine how much work your doing. Would have loved something like that fifty years ago but not on Gulf coast of Texas where I was raised. Great workmanship.

Did u leave any gap for dowels to sag down? If not that could be a problem soon. There should be couple of cm empty space on top of dowels so logs can sag down freely.

Storage in the basement Evacuation of tornado Do you make an underground trench?
I'm more worried about a forest fire, so let's run away immediately.

And then, enter stage right, Grandpa. Driving what looks very like an old Ferguson tractor. Lovingly known in UK as A wee old grey Fergie! Is it? :-)

I'm thinking stain the logs as they go on to get the moss side and prevent the mold. Not that I've ever seen that done.
