Sam shows you how to make the best hot dog w/ this easy recipe + a side of homemade garlic fries! Josh: You've honestly changed my life, Sam. I used to work as a sous chef and then head chef at what was considered to be the second most upscale restaurant in my city. I had ran the back of the house for a seafood market and restaurant before that. I know my way around food, and even when I stopped working at restaurants I still cook all the time at home for friends and family because I love it. But, do you know what I've never known about in all that time before watching your videos? A freaking garlic press. I always either smashed or shaved/diced my garlic with my knife, which is probably why I used to just keep a jar of pre-minced garlic in my fridge at home. Because garlic, as amazing as it is, is also a pain in the ass. I now own a zyliss garlic press, and I feel like it has changed my life. So, I wanted you to know that you've given me more than just hours of enjoyment watching your videos. You've given me the gift of a freaking garlic press. And, that is awesome.

I've been binge watching your videos and I always thought you looked familiar. You sort of remind me of WALDO but all grown up. Just an observation, respectfully. Anyone else see the similarity? Also, seeing as this video is about hot dogs. I recently located a hotdog cooker and bun toaster in one. I bought it at Wal Mart here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Coolest thing about it, is that is a Coca Cola brand, and I am a self admitting Cokeaholic. Can't wait to go back to work. Bet your ass it will be coming with me to the jobsite. Freshly toasted buns (buttered) and cooked hot dogs every day, no complaints here. It's pretty cool. So cool, that I may just buy another one for the novelty of it. Do it up y'all.

Boiling works for those kind of. stereotypical) or classic hotdogs that go with fast food places. Very common in old English to boil similar cheap sausages. But do you do the same if you go buy some mean ass expensive sausages like cheese & pork beef mixed fat sausages? Scoring it instantly starts leaking out and losing that flavour. I've heard/seen with better grade sausages to instead do the boiling in various beer to keep or rather add some flavour.

My sister-in-law gets migraines and it seems to happen when she consumes garlic. I have celiac disease and can not consume gluten. If I had to choose, I would definitely take not being able to eat gluten over not being able to eat garlic! (I was diagnosed about a year ago. So yes, I do remember how good things like bread and beer taste. There are gluten-free alternatives, but it's not the same)

For the easiest max flavor, why on earth would you put dogs on a griddle instead of a kettle with real charcoal. Your fries are over thought out. And when you wipe your mouth with the entire roll, it unfortunately conjures an image of how you handle the opposite business end. Is this a Canadian thing? I love Canada, and adore ( most of ) your videos.

So. If you want your fry experience to remind you of the best fast food fries you remember do the following: after cutting your fries you are going to par-boil them and if you want to amp it up a bit add some sugar to the water. Dry them off before frying so you don't get hot burning death splatter in your eye when you drop the fries in the oil.

i've been wondering how to turn hot dogs into a legitimate meal instead of just snack. and i think it has to do with the dinky buns that never stay together. if they made like hoagie rolls for hotdogs, you could really load them up. also like ur cut technique. really lets the sauces get into the dog

another great video! Love this guy! We have been watching for quiet some time. Sorry could not make to NotNotTacos when visiting my incarcerated brother in SD past August. Will be back next time for sure! p. s. too much red onion for my taste, but the sour cream sauce should be fire!

I'm always trying to find something new to try for hot dogs. This might be it. One time I made pizza hot dogs. After toasting the buns, rub them with a clove of garlic, add some olive oil, put down a layer of pepperoni and marinara, hot dog, then topped with mozzarella.

Love dogs man! Pearls Meats in Boston, MA makes a 1/2 pound dog that I used to poach in apple juice & brown sugar. After the flavor was infused I'd grill it to caramelize the sugar a bit then hit it with a red onion relish & honey mustard. Peace.
