It is REALLY hard to believe this guy is Canadian (known for politeness. He just seems so abrasive. I've watched a few of his videos and really want to like him; but. ugh! He is rude to his children, condescending, and aggressive. He could use a few lessons from Chef John (Food Wishes) as to relatability. I feel horrible posting this comment; but, it is true. It would be nice if you didn't talk down or at your audience but help them through the journey of cooking. Just saying.

Way better recipe is. 2 Leeks. 2 Medium size onion. 5 Medium size potato. Cook the leek and onions in butter until translucent on low/medium heath. Then add the potatoes and let it cook for a few minutes. Add chicken stock to cover, and let it simmer until everything is soft. Mix it, add salt, white pepper to taste and finally add half a cup of heavy cream and let it come to a simmer, stir and eat with with buttered bread and a good cheese.

I've made this many times and love it so much! But the best way to clean your leeks is to slice them up into a big bowl of clean water and swish them around first. Then let everything settle for a few minutes (up to half an hour. The sliced veggy will all float on the top, with all the dirt and grim settled on the bottom of the bowl. It's easy: just skim the clean slices off the surface of the water, and drain in a colander. :)

Yes, thank you, Sam. Sense we don't know what any raw vegetable has been fertilized with it is best practice to always wash your vegetables before consuming. So quick and simple, Sam. This is my second time watching this video. I have already made it once and it was delicious. The tater tots takes it to the divine level. Not only does it add extra flavor but that crunch just makes the meal complete.

Sam I do not think that leeks are from the green onion family. In Portuguese we call them ALHO Porro and alho in Portuguese is garlic. Since the flavour is a wee bit stronger than a green onion in general, I would tendo to think that they are closer to alho although they do not creat a bulb when they grow like garlic and regular onions do as they grow. Who knows?

Dirt and sand are not Good Eats. It's not that they're lacking in texture, but that they have so, so very much. and it's not a good one. I've always been a bit intimidated to try cooking with leeks, but after seeing this video and a few others, I'm ready to give it a go. The idea of using crispy potato puffs as a garnish is brilliant. :) Thanks!

Actually, a little bit of dirt CAN kill you. Soil contains microbes, which can be deadly if consumed. Ever heard of E coli? Wash your vegetables, people! LOL Especially ones that grow in the ground. Great video, man! Gonna try this one. :-D
