Mmmm, my fav; I made this a couple of weeks ago. I usually add almost twice the liquid to cook the smoked turkey wings. Some people call the broth pot liquor, I freeze the extra broth in 2 separate batches but I may choose to dilute it when I cook with the reserved broth. It contains lots of good flavor for cooking rice, beans, soup, potatoes, or for the small amount of liquid needed to steam/fry pot stickers, also known as Asian dumplings. Thanks for sharing!

Just a hint for you. Saute your garlic in the butter first till a lighter golden brown or tan then add your onions and peppers. The water from the onions and peppers will stop the cooking process of garlic so it doesn't get bitter. It's so much more flavorful and aromatic this way. Smoked hamhock is also yummy in this or smoked knuckles. Also, if you chop the core it will give it a tiny little spicey bite to it. Good eating for sure!

Great recipe and I'm sure great flavor. You have my vote on Delicious. I know there at dozens of ways to prepare this dish in a similar fashion. However this was your recipe and it should stand on its own. Great job. I will get busy with this preparation of Cabbage and smokes turkey meal. Munchas Gracias. Tom in Minneapolis, MN 9/4/19

Beautiful head of cabbage. My local store cuts off the outer green leaves! They are delicious, just needs to clean them & cook a little longer than the inner leaves. Braised cabbage is delicious cooked with carrots & green onions. I don't cook vegetables with meat. Braised cabbage IS delicious with cornbread, Soul Sister!

My grocery store does not have cabbage like that pick right out of the ground. It's white or light green with no extra leaves on it, so not sure where you buy your produce but I don't see cabbage like that in any grocery store in Washington State which is pretty Progressive to my chagrin

Love how you did yours with smoked turkey! I often do mine with a ham bone and a generous amount of leftover ham. And sometimes Sazon-Goya Ham Flavor. We love it for a main dish so I add in in large cubes of potatoes towards the end. and a bit of crushed red pepper. Thanks for sharing!

You never really realize HOW MUCH cabbage increases in volume once you chop it. That one little head fits fine in your hand, then turns into a bushel basket once you go after it with a knife! (Oh the number of times I've made cabbage soup and wound up with enough for an army. LOL)

This is cool, first time I've seen your vids. the family culture provides for some unique twists of one way of making something. My son in-law is from the south and mostly grills, I'm looking for new things we may all like and this is cool, thanks.
