Thanks for this video! Sigh. memories. I grew up in Aina Haina when the shop Uncle Clay talked about was a few doors down and tiny. Used to go there as a kid and buy cracked seed and icees and everyone used to just call the shop Chinese store. And shave ice isn't your typical snow cone. If you've had one before, it's super finely shaved like fresh snow. It just dissolves in your mouth instantly. It's great. Although, I still think Shimazu Store has better shave ice. ;)

I stop here often and the shave ice is killer. More and more shave ice stands are making their own syrups out of real fruits and so the quality is much better than when we were kids. They cost a little more because it costs more to make the syrups but it's worth paying extra. I call it gourmet shave ice.

To everyone saying that Shave ice exists outside of Hawaii, sure, it does, but the ice is never as fine and the flavors are never as good as they are in Hawaii. You have to experience it in Hawaii to see that there is a significant difference.

I loved this place on my visit to Honolulu. The Uji Kintoki is amazing and the mochi is the best! 100% agree with how delicious this place is. Awesome video, makes me want to go back!
