Damn, that guy has a pretty deep story. Its what irritates me about the hippies of that time, here were a group of people who wanted to escape the tyranny of Communism & so the U. S. went there to give these people the freedoms the owner of this restaurant has in Hawaii, but the hippies went and painted the U. S. as devils & Warmongers for invading Vietnam as if giving Vietnamese people freedoms residents of the U. S. enjoy was such an evil thing. Hippies were idiots, their moronic views are rubbing off on a lot of millennials today, its really sad.

My husband and I just made dinner reservation at the pig and the lady but after watching this video I am having second thoughts about eating at a restaurant (knowing my health codes for food establishments) where the chef would allow someone to take the spoon that the person just drank from back into the ladle and the pot. It's very unsanitary. Hope this is not the norm. I'm a major foodie and quite a picky one. Plus following sanitary cooking practice for the public is very important.

On this video you just made Mr. Simeon and the conversation you were having was really deep and true to the islands. This generation today is missing that totally. I grew up in Oahu, Kalihi to be exact my whole life was growing up in low income housing and we learned to live off the Aina our neighbors would share with everyone what we caught at the beach, hunting etc. Today this generation is sad really sad. Great videos keep up the good work, aloha brahdah Simeon.

Please do not go here. The service is terrible! I tried this place and for the price it's NOT WORTH IT! They served the pho luke warm and there's no siracha or hoisin sauce readily available for me. I asked for the sauce and it took them over half an hour just to get it. The soup is OVERLY salty as well.

there was something calming about this episode! it was really good! both spoke well and very naturally. it wasnt like 'lets say this because the camera is there'. it was legit like watching your two friends have a chat lol it was nice! thanks!

The Vietnamese people have no sense of food safety and sanitation. choose your restaurant wisely or you'd be poisoned with pesticides, lead or chromium. You see that same taste spoon dipped in all the soup pots. Gross!

I really like the fact that he sources from his community and creates his food based around local ingredients to create a meal that is not only Vietnamese but also Hawaiian.
