Make Jalape-o cornbread recipe with sharp Cheddar and extra corn kernels. This jalape-o cornbread is a nice change from regular cornbread and goes great with chili, soup and stew

I always throw a glob of bacon grease into the skillet when I put it in to preheat. A glob, of course, is a precise unit of measurement we all know, which needs no further definition.
I've added cheddar, and Jalapenos, and bacon, singly and together. There's no limit to the horrible things you can do to cornbread. LOL

I recommend everyone sign up for Hilah's emails. The last one was awesome. She reviewed how to cut things. She reminded me about how to cut the garlic. She reminded me about how best to cut the veggies. She left one out. I am sincerely looking forward to Hilah's philosophy on cutting the cheese.

Ever since you posted the tip about putting the cast iron skillet in the oven to preheat way back on your original cornbread video, I've done it with every baking recipe that I use my cast iron skillet for and it makes everything better always. It's an amazing tip. Thank you!

honestly after making this last night i can say it wasn't good, not sure if it's supposed to be a healthy recipe or something but it was very dry and had no flavor 0/10. it needs sugar and butter! if you want a good recipe find the Darius cooks recipe 10/10.

The bottom crust looks sooooo crispy and delicious! Yum! In so many cooking videos, the cook never tastes the finished dish. Not you Hilah. I love how you just dive right in there and take a big honkin' bite! Lol! Gonna try this recipe this weekend for sure!

Looks similar to the way I make cornbread. Except, I don't do cheese in the mix. Not my thing at all. sorry. Corn kernels and preheated cast iron pan, definitely! I also shake in some cayenne pepper for a little heat. It's divine!

From the tone of your warning, I would say that you, like the rest of us, have pulled the skillet out of the oven bare handed. Ouch! BTW, you have never looked more lovely.

Cornbread looks so delicious, but I don't have a cast iron skillet (not sure they even sell those in Holland, or an oven big enough to fit a skillet: (

Why are you not on food network or something? You're that good.
So it is this cornbread, made it before and making it for the boyfriend tonight.
