Hm. It sounded nice until he (Jack) got to the gold. Whenever I hear that some dish is covered with gold, I lose interest (in the dish, not the episode of BwB.
I'll never understand the appeal - if you want to show that you're made of money, why not have the food hand-served by whatever ideal of beauty you ascribe to? That at least would make more sense than having tasteless, useless gold on top - I imagine it can't even improve the texture of the dish.

You can't say the gold leaf is the useless part. Gold is a trace element we find no trace of in blood in normal time, but that does not mean it has potential virtues: ) It is a proven strong antioxidant. It is also believed (because I could not find a reliable source for this) to have effects on the treatment of arthritis and digestive enzymes stimulation. Plus it's not toxic for the body so you can eat as much as you want

this is the first thing i have ever seen that explains why you put the plastic wrap directly on top of the semi-liquid thing to be chilled. It seems so obvious now.
