Thank you! This compilation has made me realise once again how lucky I was to live in a time when music was unique. In 1979 I turned 20 and was already studying. In 1982 I started working because I decided I preferred that to studying. From that point on I had the money to buy any record I liked. So I have almost half of the songs that make up this compilation as singles in my record collection.

Thank you sir for all of your work. Joe Jackson and The Clash made all of that worthwhile. I still listen to Train In Vain weekly. It is kind of sad when you listen to Spandau Ballet, ABC, and Paul Young. all have amazing voices yet their songs are pretty bad. Appreciate the trip down memory lane.

While I maintain that 1984-5 are the two best years of music in my lifetime, 1982-3 aren't far behind. Wow. Simpler times.
