Sorry, but to compare it with the OG movies is surreal. Yes, I wont deny it's good, but HOLLY MOLE is it overrated. If you get bored by slow series prepare for nothing to happen two out of every three episodes.
I understand living the world but there are episodes where nothing happens or advances the story or we get no information about the characters. And no, making a series slow doesn't make it good, you can immerse someone in a world without having preparation episodes. I feel it suffers from early 2010 indie syndrome where they just drag you along and consider it art, because No OnE dArEs To MaKe LoNg ShOtS iN cInEmA. No sorry you can have both and it not be boring. Im watching Netflix Daredevil again and even though the second season dropped the ball, the rest is an example of slow and steady.

Havent watched Andor, not a huge Star wars guy, but people make this show sound good. And that street scuffle scene you clipped immediately brought to my mind the Boston Massacre, probably intentionally with the occupying force in red coats.

The online discourse around the fascist characters and many people expecting them to have some kind of redemption arc is a fascinating and terrifying misunderstanding of both authoritarianism and basic narrative.

I enjoyed the first several episodes of season 1 (especially the jailbreak episodes, but ended up not finishing it due to how tired I got of people repeatedly saying finally a good star wars over and over.

i love the focus on the average person in andor, i like a big hero who goes on a rampage but ultimately its way more relatable to see someone just trying to do their best in the face of terrifying odds.

GL: So, think of the Viet Kong. And they're being attacked by this invading, imperialist force that wants to enforce it's way of life on people.
JC: Ah yes, those dastardly Brits. shakes fist

This is part of why people hated the sequels. Rey was godlike and a hero, which is never a good mix. It tried so hard to achieve political correctness but avoided politics itself

Andor is about REBELLION what it takes for a person, and society, to fight back against fascism. Its so ironic that this is being published by the Disney Corporation.

Cool, also, speaking of rebellion, here's a wee reminder that BDS have called for a boycott of Disney (and Microsoft's Xbox, you might've heard.
