Moonlighter has gorgeous animation, a beautiful soundtrack, and a dope monetary system. What more could you ask for, really? Im playing moonlighter on the switch (digital purchase at full price) and having many problems which is unfortunate. Starting it chugs and drops frames not only in dungeons but in the village as well which causes severe problems in combat. Im also getting stuck in screen transitions where my character disappears into the next screen tile but the screen is stuck on the tile I just cleared. Meaning the transitions to the next screen routinely break which has ended a run on a couple occasions. There is also many clipping problems. Whether dodge rolling in combat or just around town I get stuck in the environment constantly!
The absolute worst problem Im encountering though is a bug during the selling section of the game. I get through an entire selling day and then something will happen where I cant leave, I cant go to bed, and there is no way to end the day. The option to sleep and leave appear but are grey and can not be interacted with. So I can restock my tables but then Im stuck. I cant advance and I have to restart the game. This then loses all the money/progress Ive made because there is no save at the end of the day. This is incredibly frustrating and makes me feel like Im wasting my time.
This is a real shame because I love this game! I played it on xbox one gamepass and I just had to be able to take it with me to continue playing so I got it on switch. Im so surprised Nintendo let this ship and surprised you guys didnt catch any of these problems. Ive had to restart the game twice just this morning and now I think Im done with it. Its a shame.\r\n

Oh my god i didnt know i wanted more games like this! I remember a cooking game that had the function where you had to hunt monsters for the food you serve in your resturant. So more shop + adventuring games would be actually amazing

The game looks sweet, although I'm taking aback by its current receptions on Steam. Some say it's a very shallow and repetitive game. My burning question is that is there an endgame or a goal for what you are doing?

This is literally what my DnD party always ends up doing (growing rich and fat off of the spoils of the shop we set up to sell the stuff we collect on our quests, so this game feels made for me.

Seems like a nice spin on Recettear, a game I enjoyed immensely. Seems the mechanical differences in this game is more my speed tho- This is definitely on my to-play list now.

It's weird to me ya'll didn't mention Recettear at all. I mean -shopkeep RPG- is such a niche thing, you'd think you would compare it to the only other one that exists!

It's a really fun game. Always has me on -one more dungeon run- right now. 2nd to last boss is pretty tough. Has me running back to town to strengthen up my armor.

I'm a small business owner, and this game sounds super satisfying. I'd never heard of it before, but now I'll definitely pick it up. Thanks for the coverage!

i've already bought this for the dungeoning and haven't played it yet, but i get the feeling that the shopkeeping will play like homework

So torn between playing this game now and waiting for Switch, which feels like the perfect platform for this sort of thing.

So Recettear but different? I hope it doesn't have the long, grindy text box dialogues from Recettear.
