Well, I really enjoy your analysis. I have another point of view on many points. Stoicism is very far of being a -macho- thing. thats a very north american point of view of the filosofy of the stoics. And you are forgotting that the mother of all martial arts, is perhaps the most grateful and contemplaty of all. kung fu. All the primitive forms of fighting styles are grateful. Kalaripayattu is another example. MMA is, in general, very sistematic and economical, because It is what work in that eviroment.
I wish I had better knoledge of english to make my point better, but, for now, It is what It is.

There was a lot more cross-cultural exchange back in the day than we sometimes tend to think. Even pre-internet, wow!
So, Pinhead might have been the inspiration, but Japan had/has its own genderbendy subculture in Visual Kei and one of its biggest founders, X Japan, were around since 1982.
There's a lot of fetishy influence in vk too, aswell as inspiration by other genres like glam rock and such.
So yeah, no way to know definitively what the inspiration was, but there's many candidates to chose from.

I agree with this entire video except for the implication that masculine brains are smaller. Men tend to eat more protein and fat, and they also tend to be more physically, and mentally active, as shown by the contributions to science and history. Men are way smarter than women. It's a really sad avenue of evolution, but true nonetheless.
