I still remember the very first game I had with my friends, I was the assassin. Bit of an explanation here, but though the evil team can discuss who they think Merlin is, only the assassin actually decides who they want to kill. They alone make the final decision. I managed to brain it out perfectly and not only figured out who Merlin was, but also who Percival, the one who's supposed to protect Merlin, was as well. The best part was that the Merlin wasn't actually obvious. They were VERY quiet and sneaky but I still caught them out. Not only that, I actually went against the opinions of my teammates to decide the kill. It was GREAT.

I don''t think it's relevant to what happened in this video, but does the software you guys use allow you to see how many people voted to fail the mission? When playing this game either physically or through TTS, you always know how many when you reveal the results, which can be a crucial piece of information when looking for the minions. Unless I've been playing this wrong and your supposed to reveal cards one by one until you get a failure or something, it seems like a bit of a handicap?

In that second game, I figured out pretty quick it was pat and jenna, but near the end with clayton's vote, I thought it could've been clayton and simone, simply because the last round which failed was Simone, Jarvis, Jenna and Clayton, and Clayton being the leader and putting the same team minus himself was basically saying to me -I'm bad and a bad friend is in that group- since if you were good, and remembered the previous round, at least Clayton would guarantee know it would fail
reply

Jenna is my favourite type of player for games like this. She talks a lot and keeps the energy up and is always actively participating and plotting. She's really clever and an asset to whatever team she's on, and can usually fool me the first time around. And then the second time I watch it I pick up on all the suspicious behavior and mistakes that slipped through (she does have some tells imo) and think dammit, how did I not notice that the first time around?

In case anyone is parsing through the comments to see if anyone explains the track below the quest track: it's the vote track. It increments by one everytime a team suggested has a majority of rejects in the votes. It is reset at the start of a round (so after a quest. If there are 5 failed team suggestions, the evil team just wins the game. So there is incentive to actually send a team out as the good team, and it's just one more tool for the evil team to use.
reply

If there are already 2 failed missions and then a team gets chosen and that teams mission is a success then every person on that team is confirmed to be good because there would be no reason for a bad guy not to select fail because they would automatically win. I-ve seen so many people not realize this and it makes me irrationally angry. There-s no reason to long con if you already have a confirmed victory.

OK so I loved every game in this, but y'all have a way of making last plays very intense, and this episode definitely was there! I really was on the edge of not knowing if Simone was outplaying everyone's trust, or if Pat just called his shot. Clayton is always 50/50 for me, but I always innately trust Jenna even though she has shown time and time again that she's good at being the traitor!

One time I played this game with some friends and I was Percival and figured out who Morgana was, so I told them I was Percival and to not send her on the mission and everyone got mad at me and told me it was cheating even though I didn't reveal my card and you can say whatever you want. anyway I won us that game and I'm still pissed about it

I both hate and love that honka honka has become a part of Polygon canon. The sound of it makes my spine curdle, and yet, every time I hear it I think of that first utterance of honka honka, where I was, and how my life changed as a result. It honka haunts me.

From the third round in the first game, I knew Josh was evil. Except for the first one to make everyone trust him, every other quest failed. It puzzled me that no one was suspecting Josh just because he passed the first quest aka did the bare minimum.
reply

Is it just me or does this game feel very unbalanced in favour of the bad guys? Especially that you only need one bad person to fail and for two rounds you literally have to include two thirds of the players
reply

I have literally forgotten my teammate and I were both on a 2 fail required mission and was the mistaken pass when my teammate thought we would win the game with 2 fails, so I relate to that first game
reply

37: 55 Clayton literally sent the three other people that went to a 4 person mission and failed, meaning if he is a good guy he should know as a fact that he sent a bad guy on a decisive mission.

This game seems like the hacker vs agents, hacking nodes. Forgot the name but I remember watching Mr. Fruit play this with his friends. I'll respond with the name when I find it.
reply

I love these games that are basically psychological warfare.

Speaking of things I love, it'd be cool to see Brian come back for an episode of Overboard

reply

Clayton in that last turn: -I-m gonna do this because it-s the one successful team-
but the successful team was Simone, Jarvis and himself, not Jenna-

reply

It's so funny that they always never trust Pat because i always seem to think he isn't lying -and i always think Jenna & Simone are lying for some reason
reply

I actually trusted Pat that 2nd round. I thought he was Merlin. He said interesting and I thought Simone was able to play it off like Pat was evil.
reply

i come into every overboard knowing i can trust clayton and simone and not trust pat and jenna, it's just how it goes yk. josh is always a wild card hahah
reply

I don't think Pat was being suspicious, but any team for that fifth round that didn't include the three that passed the fourth would be illogical
reply

Whatever Pat is that 4 team was a terrible decision either way because the three on the previous round are guaranteed good.
Edit: APARENTLY NOT?

I really loved the guest and the episode in general. Maybe one of my favorite Overboard episodes and I've watched them all many times over.
reply

It-s always so funny when they play hidden role games, they always begin the round friendly and devolve into complete suspicion and paranoia
reply

Josh was guaranteed safe on that last round. Or at least if Simone was good Josh was good, and if Simone was bad Josh was 4/5 chance to be good.
reply

Im busy being distracted by the fact that i recognize some of the background music. Trotto danza is haunting me everywhere i go
reply

Morgan being on Mordred-s team is hilarious given that in the mythology she was the one who saved Arthur-s life
reply

I think seeing you guys play Mindnight would be interesting, its similar to this, and there are different modes to it!
reply

Why would Josh not want to be part of the 4-person team in the last game? He guaranteed a failure for that round.
reply

man i couldn-t tell this was an overboard video from the thumbnail! maybe that-s why this one didn-t do as well?
reply

jarvis's joke about Shane Dawson immediately elevated my interest level bc that was really witty and unexpected
