Love your early choices but your middle picks arent so pleasing. If I ever watch Sound of Music again, Ill slit my throat and this from a passionate R&H fan from earliest youth, never mind a fan of Robert Wise. But much as I love Julie Andrews and admire her stellar work, this film of the duos flabby last gasp is truly unbearable. In the words of Time Magazines review, its a movie that wells around you in warm blobs. Meanwhile, The Wiz film is an unforgivable abomination of its brilliant stage version while the Grease number is totally forgettable. Guess you just got seduced by brainless popularity. At least you finished pm one of the greatest songs in American musical history, even if my vote would have been for Maria.

For example, Dear Evan Hansen (2021, In the Heights (2021, West Side Story (2021, Tick, Tick. Boom! (2021, Phantom (2013. The Greatest Showman (2017, La La Land (2016, and not that recent but Little Shop of Horrors (1986) is also in the dawn of more modern musicals. I too, would love to see more, and 2021 brought us some good ones. I'm ready for a Star Trek or other Sci-fi genre as musical.

I remember singing the song from the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie when I was in the UAE and went to the The International School of Choueifat - Sharjah in Dubai.
In that class we had a song test in both the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song and My Grandfathers clock.
We performed those songs to our parents later to a great aplause.
But that is the first time I have performed in a group ever, but I have loved the song ever since.

Can't agree with all the choices, of course, and it's all a matter of personal taste -- but overall a good list. I probably would have picked Shapoopi over Trouble, defintely Who Will Buy? over Consider Yourself (and that's saying something. Could also make an argument for You Can Count on Me over New York, New York but it would be close.

A few I was disappointed to not see: Getting to Know You from The King and I, Cabaret from Cabaret, Ya Got Trouble from The Music Man, and the BIGGEST whiff for this list is Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sure RHPS isn't a typical musical but the catchiness of the songs is undeniable and Time Warp should have been included.

I think you should do, He's just a man, from the king & I it is done so well & with so much feeling. I also be believe that Sunrise & Sunset from fiddler on the roof is pertaining about so much of our lives as parents Please do these songs these are a couple of the best! I love Musicals

If you are really looking for catchy. L'chiam would have been a better choice from Fiddler. and either Good Morning or Moses Supposes His Toes are Roses should have been seriously considered for Singing in the Rain. nothing from Chicago?

i am 52 and so far I have only heard #18 & 12 & 10 & 9 & 8 & 4 & 3. All the rest weren't kids friendly movies in the 70's in L. A. All the ones I did see were on TV in the 70's.
