Honourable Mention: Carol Ann Suzi - The Big Bang Theory
Throughout the first 7 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Carol Ann Suzi became as well known as the main cast, providing the deep throaty screeching of Howard's mother, Mrs Wolowitz. However, when filming began on TBBT's 8th Season, Mrs Wolowitz's deep vocals were missing, due to Suzi being in hospital with cancer, and subsequently Mrs Wolowitz passes away in the 15th episode The Comic Book Store Regeneration, due to Suzi passing away shortly before, leading to a scene of Leonard, Penny, Sheldon, Amy, Raj and and Stuart toasting the character and subsequently the actress who played her.

Wow. Nearly cried on that last one. I never got to see the farewell episode for him. That was beautiful. I was in such shock over Phil Hartman when it happened. He was so great to watch on SNL and anything else that he lent his talent to. As sick as it is, I can honestly say that I wasn't too sad when his wife turned the gun on herself. She deserved to die for what she did. The saddest things in that situation are the death of Phil and the fact that their young children were on the house and heard it all. Also that they had to grow up without their parents because of her awfulness.

I remember four of these (never saw the Middle) and they were all so heartbreaking. The John Ritter one was especially shocking because it was sudden. The Phil Hartman one was just plain evil that someone could be that cruel. Loved Cheers and Night Court but wasn't that shocked with those because I was fairly young at the time and they were older. Not even sure I watched either show back then because I was young but my parents did and they talked about both shows dealing with real life deaths.

The show had all the regular cast broke the fourth wall and reminsced/tell stories of Jack and his character. At the end of the episode (one last salute to his character's inability to make coffee, they all raised their coffee cups and toasted to his memory.

I would have made Nicholas (Coach) Colasanto #1. It was subtle, poignant, personal, and touching, and having the photo as part of the set for the remainder of the series run, and having Sam adjust the photo in the last episode made it more real. The rest of them were pretty ham-fisted. They had their moment and then they moved on

I remember hearing about Ritter's death and wondering what they were going to do with the show. Even after all these years, it still makes me cry. I tried to continue watching the show with the addition of James Garner and David Spade, but I couldn't.

John Ritter is my favorite three's company. Problem child, the Bride of Chucky and he made a whole lot of cameos. 8 simple rules for dating my teenage daughter's he was made for that part what's a shame he died so Young. He is still my favorite comedian.

Barney Miller handled it differently when they lost Jack Soo, who played Yemana; they had a retrospective of his work on the show, ending with the cast lifting up coffee cups in a toast (there was a running gag about how Yemana made the WORST coffee.

Cory Monteith's death was devastating for me. I literally went into labor with my youngest from how upset I was. His The Quaterback episode destroyed me, especially see how Lea Michele lost her love and how the cast had nothing, but real tears.

the only thing I didn't like in these clips is when harry Anderson said you have to move on after someone passes maybe he could move on in a snap but you should never tell someone how to mourn.

John Ritter's passing killed me. I love John so much. I found his gravesite a few years ago and couldn't hide my tears. His death truly felt like I had lost someone I was close to.

Let's not forget Dolph Sweet, who played Chief Carl Kanisky on the 80's sitcom Gimme A Break. Nell Carter and the cast did an excellent job in paying tribute to Mr. Sweet's memory.
