Looking back at The Print Shop Deluxe by Br-derbund Software from 1993! Growing up in the 90s, I had an oddly fun time playing around with the program making lots of random signs, banners, cards, and calendars, simply because I -could. - And if nothing else, Cool Crab

The Print Shop Deluxe Ensemble II was one of my absolute favorite -computer games. - No telling how much time I spent using it to peruse the delightful clipart, create posters and greeting cards and banners and school projects and labels and whatnot (some of which we still have. and actually treat it as a word processor before my dad showed me Word. xD I'd just use the smallest font inside a giant text block. That was the next step after the typewriter, when we had the first family computer in the parlor for everybody to share. Dial-up AOL, so many wonderful games. Ah, good times. Far better times. But yeah, so many Print Shop graphics are just iconic. And the best category of clipart is Dapper Dogs, do not - me. ;b Peerlessly magnificent program.

Oh man. My first introduction to The Print Shop was the original version on the Apple IIe systems in my school's computer lab. In 1991-92, as a fifth grader, my across-the-street neighbor, who worked for IBM, let me borrow his color, 24 pin, Citizen Dot Matrix printer. I got my dad to buy me The New Print Shop, and I'd charge my classmates to make signs and such in color (remember, 1991-92, that was a novelty. I even did some t-shirts with the iron-on deals. I was said when my neighbor wanted the printer back LOL. On a side note, there was also a program called The News Room where I ran our elementary school newspaper, the first time it was ever computerized. Ahhh, the glory days of computing.

I remember our first computer was a Windows 3. 1 Packard Bell and I would mess around in the paint program but we could never print anything. Our first color printer was an Epson in 1998 and my mom reserved every drop like it was liquid gold. Only using it for adult things and we were rarely ever allowed to print, and when we did, it had to be in black and white. I remember using Print Shop and Kid Pix a lot and making greeting cards during the holidays to send to relatives. There wasn't much to do on PCs outside of gaming and business stuff so this is what we did! Those clip arts will always bring back tons of memories.

Had this program back then it was fantastic it was meant for cards poster and other office use but it was art as well there was art studio versions and photo editing software to they were both amazing and this software company also brought out a office program if member servers Print Shop plus also had a few interesting surprises if you were using they office program if you remember? I wonder if they might be possible to get them on windows 10 have tried some older programs but don't want run but I think they maybe away round it from open source say or if you have an older pc that still works?

this reminded me of how I used to play with Publisher on our old Windows 98 computer when i was a little kid, i loved making brochures especially! i was so excited when i found out how to add the bmp PetzPix from the camera in the Petz games and would use those alongside the clipart. I vaguely remember there being a paper airplane template as well where it printed the lines where you needed to fold and you could add clip art or text or whatever to the wings. good times.

I have very early memories of playing on my grandpas old computer and using a program like this. I cannot remember the program and had no idea what computer he had but this is the closest I have found. I think that he has a windows 3. 1 or something around that time. He worked for ibm and had that old computer until he got an XP. I never saw that old program again but have been on the hunt for that lost memory. Thank you Clint for helping me put the pieces together

This is the sort of software I would have loved to play around with as a kid back in the day. Thanks for the nostalgia!
On a side note, Broderbund also developed a -World Atlas- software that was one of my absolute favorite things to use way back in the day. I lost the disk for it one day and I've spent 15+ years trying to remember the name of the company that made it, and your video finally made me remember it. Thanks again, Clint!

I had Print Shop Delux for MSDos on my 286! With a dot matrix printer Id make awesome banners for birthdays and other holidays. It took about a half hour for the old nec to crank out a banner, hoping it wouldnt jam. I also used it to make all my thank you cards for presents. It was a great program and I missed those dot matrix banners when the old dot matrix got replaced with an hp color injket when we upgraded to a packard bell 486.

I never knew Print Shop Deluxe, it just wasn't a thing back then around here. People usually used PowerPoint to do calendars, leaflets and the like. It wasn't really designed for that but Microsoft caught on and started releasing templates for those kinds of documents in both PowerPoint and Word. I personally liked using Microsoft Publisher better and even did some school and family projects with it. I still use it sometimes.

I grew up in the early 90s in Finland and these old vintage software reviews bring back memories. Those chunky tabs and overall 90s aesthetic really is something.
Brings back memories of visiting electronic stores with my dad and admiring all the latest PC tech and games such as Quake. Reading PC magazines with game and tech reviews. Good times.
