Dang, it's been a while! Finally got together enough footage for a full, real episode of LGR Thrifts. I've been visiting stores here and there this whole time, but nowhere near as often as I used to. And even then, it's been pretty slim pickins whenever I did go out. Whatever though, here we are with a bunch of thrifty thrift store stuff I've run across over the past however many months. Enjoy!

I love LED alarm clocks. It is quite creepy to wake up at 3am or whatever, open your eyes and see those little red or yellow lights just looking back at you, and it means if I do wake up at night, you don't have to open your phone and get distracted. When my parents die I want to get a Nixie tube one, but if I get it now my mum will never let me hear the end of it, so I have to make do with Amazon's bad selection of Chinese ones that conk out after a week or only work if you press a button (which defeats the object of having them on my bookcase looking at me. Luckily I found one that wasn't made by those generic ACME brands on Amazon, so here's hoping it's actually good for the time being.
Also, you have a lot of restraint when thrusting. I'd have bought everything I picked up in the video. The charity shops here have reopened and the thing I'd do is try and promote the charities close to my heart. But I'd feel a bit of shame as well walking round a shop filming without buying anything. It's a tough call: .

i remember i had some old crt tv back when i was a kid and for some reason it went black & white i didn't know why. so i just sat there for a while messing with the knobs and buttons on the front to try and get it back to normal (there were only two knobs and one button) and i just couldn't get get it back to color. last i saw that tv we were moving and it was sitting in the back of my grandpa's car and i never saw it again after that

Rather impressed with the viewer finds. Some N64 games? A Dreamcast? Yes, please! Also impressed that someone found the Lost Ark.
The last few times my wife and I have gone thrifting, there hasn't been anything interesting. Games are almost always just some old sports games and stuff like that. Our local thrift stores kinda suck.
Anyway, great to see an LGR thrifting video!

I have the same alarm clock as that Micronta one, except the brand is SPARTUS, and the screen is red and the buttons are black. I funnily enough paid 3 dollars for it at a thrift store, been using it as an alarm clock everyday now for over a year. Guess it was the same design a bunch of companies slapped their logo onto.

If you ever find yourself in the Detroit area, there is a great little shop called Rertrotaku you'd have a field day at. They have bins and bins of games from rare Japanese and US computers and consoles of the 80s and 90s, as well as plenty of games for the systems old and newish that we know and love.

Burning smell? oh i know that one. Gramps house had old stuff in the 8090s and if there was a device with a heating element like radio or lamps or clocks. well it in smelled burned. Definitely something i rememember from the time.

Me too on the lame finds at my local Goodwill. Been picking up things with radios in them for DXing. Some of the old radio-things have great sounding speakers. The Sony Dream Machines tune AM/FM pretty well. Thank you for the video.
