I know of some DOS game I played that also was somewhat of a Pacman clone with the ability to use keys to open door and I think you were supposed to collect treasure to progress to the next level. What makes me remember this game is that instead of lifes, you had a health bar and for each time you took a hit, you heard that classic DOS beeping sound. -
I know it's farfetched but as the -master in computing- you are, I thought I would give this a shoot as CD man reminded me of the game.

Nice little review! I just thought about sending you a request to do one for CD-MAN, so this HAS to be telepathic in some way! Never heard of CD-Man 1. 5 nor 2. 0, but I do remember having played the 'full', original version once. It didn't differ that much from the version you remembered; only in that it had more than two and a half levels. The effects were all there. And OH YEAH, I also remember thinking 'where's the CD' when I first got the game.

Hey, don't bother getting Full 1. 5, because I doubt it exists: )
1. 5 shareware is pretty much the same as -pre-release- version. Even F1 key works! And the third world is still under development in 1. 5. And 1. 5 manual says worlds 4&5 are available in 2. 0.
And finally, pre-release version and 1. 5 shareware have exactly same files: ) (only help file changed in 1. 5, and cd-man. exe became dmmain. exe)

I played this a lot when I was younger. I would get up early just to play this game before school and I was somehow entertained with the same three levels over and over again.
I was also considering putting some gameplay video of this in my Shareware Revolution video, but I already had lots of video from several different games, and I don't remember seeing -Shareware- anywhere in the game.

-LiquidZ2k That's not because todays programmers are worse! First off modern games feature higher-res graphics and sounds, music etc. Those alone take up a lot of space. Then there's the frameworks that the programs must be built with. The. Net runtime alone is some 150MBs! That's just the reality of modern programming.

Have you played Pac-Man: Adventures In Time? It's a great Pac-Man game exclusive for the PC with a lot of level variety and 3D graphics that still look good today. I wanted to keep playing just to see what the next maze looked like or what unique addition it had this time.

I actually tried out this game on my newly repaired Gateway 466c computer, along with doom and and wolfenstein! I remember getting a whole box of games from a friend back in germany with this game and a few arcade ports like renegade and double dragon. Great times.

I wonder if the full version of CD-Man 1. 5 with all the levels and the yellow PacMan as the main character instead of the Snoofer exist in any shape or form on the web.
If there were some way to edit the graphics itself using the game-files it would be cool.

Ooh gosh, I recognized CD-man from the ending on one of your most recent vedios and hoped you'd done a video on it, and you had! I had forgotten this childhood game of mine completely. I had the snoofer version 2. 0. Such mamories.

I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. Watching this review reminded me of the shareware discs I had as a young child.
There was this game that was basically Pac-Man with guns. Poorly made too. Ring any bells?
