-trophy242 I never meant for there to be any implication that this had anything to do with Wings of Fury. Just that the gameplay was inspired by it and other similar previous games such as Two Tigers.
And you would be correct about this being a demo for STOS if this were that game, but it's not. You're thinking of SkyStrike. This is SkyStrike Plus, which is a more involved, full-featured game released as a full game after the success of the demo. It still uses STOS, but it's not a simple demo.

This game looks like a lot of fun! One benefit of STs in the emulation realm is its EASY to use even if Amigas were pretty much superior. Ive got a Retro Gamer Magazine CDROM with a Windows emu and a couple games like Fire and Ice and it is dirt easy to get going, which you sadly cannot say for the Amiga. Next time I get some free gametime (so backlogged) I might take a look for this thing. I think Rocksolid Arcade has a WW1 game similar to this in flash too.

I have this in the loft with my 520STE. Quick question to anyone that knows, my cousin had an Amiga mid 90's and there was a similar game to this but im pretty sure you had a bigger selection of aircraft and the ability to use bouncing bomb ala dambusters. Anyone know of this game or did i have an over active imagination as a kid lol? Also im looking for abandonware for SkyStrike and am yet to find any, anyone got any links?

-phreakindee Not very into the dog-fight genre, but that game reeks of great gameplay!
Yeah, how about that Sonic Fan Remix, huh! Man what a good taster that was -_- Not perfect by any means, but you can tell that the team is heading in the right direction with this one. I was just amazed by how much detail they've put into those levels!
As for Sonic 4; Not for me.

Anybody remember an old dos game with 3d graphics where you control some sort of a ship or a car-like machine through the city, and capture criminals, but then you had to interrogate them, and there was a time limit, so you needed to know what questions to ask, or smth like that? :) If i'm not mistaken, ih had -Cloud- in its name. hmm

It looks pretty cool considering the time it came out, I think the creators looked at the old PC game -Sopwith- when they made this.
Also, there is this much newer game -Altitude- for pc which is essentially a online deathmatch with 2D planes. Kind of like this, except no destroyable background, too bad.

-UKRetroGames Other than the controls this one is rock-solid. It's very challenging but I can't help but love it.
The ST review will definitely be fun. As for when I don't know, but it's on the way for sure. And even a direct comparison of the Amiga vs ST? Just maybe, if I dare.

I had a game exactly like this for the Amiga only it was all set on one screen, can anybody remember the title? It's literally the same game apart from you were only fighting against other planes and you could also play two player, you even had to land the same

-kad3t JetStrike is friggin' awesome, for sure! But I gotta say, after playing them both quite a bit, my vote goes to SkyStrike. It's simpler and less involved and has a lot more humor and odd little quirks that really make it amazing (to me)

Great stuff. The Atari ST was the system I grew up with as a kid so I love seeing people review games from my childhood system. For another game like this, I highly recommend an old public domain game called 'Fokker Wolf'.
