Im looking for similiar looking game guys, maybe you could help me, it is probably ms-dos game. I played the game back in the 2003 on my PC. It was 2D game. Where you played as a mummy, and you were trying to find golden keys. I remember there were rooms in the level, and you never see to the room until you came inside. There could be enemies, pickups or the key. (I dont remember if it was randomized, but I think so)
I am looking very, very, very long time. If anyone gives the right name I will be generous to him. $

-UKRetroGames -UKRetroGames Haha, it has been a while back! It was packed in with the 48k, along with at least one other. -
And yes I know, I know, I'm doing it wrong. haha, PC user habits die hard. I like QAOPM for platform and action games, but for anything remotely mazelike I find it very hard to act quickly with the keys all spread out. Now the ELK won't even let me config similar -PC arrow key- inputs, I suppose due to keyboard mapping/overlap, but the Speccy is okay with my mutation!

It's probably been mentioned already, but this game was released on the Amstrad CPC 464, and was one of ten ) titles that came with the machine - I suspect the CPC version controls a little better than the Spec. I'm not sure if Amstrad had bought Sinclair by the time Oh Mummy was converted to Spectrum.

Hehe, this looks like it coud be kind of fun, I wonder if there is a C64 version, I wish I could remember where that tune was from, I keep hearing it in everything, I seem to remember that kids used to sing rather silly lyrics to it.
Great review as always dude.

-vwestlife I do, a Sony Trinitron. It works with the V-hold adjusted and in monochrome, as you said. I use a PAL->NTSC adapter to then get color. I go into a whole lot of detail into exactly what all I use for my PAL systems in my ZX Spectrum computer review.

Another entertaining and informative video - well done. Nice that a reviewer doesn't slag-off such old games with 'functional' graphics and sound, for no good reason. What are your favourite Spectrum games, from what you've played?

Do you have a PAL-compatible monitor for these Euro systems? Most NTSC monitors will display a PAL signal if you have a manual V-Hold control to readjust it to the 50 Hz refresh rate, but then you only see the image in black & white.

Your only complaint is the controls, sounded more like you have virtually nothing good to say about it. If this is your first time playing this game it-s no wonder you don-t appreciate it

love seeing Americans discovering the computer games of my youth. The Amstrad CPC version of this was a lot better though - nice animation and graphics, smoother controls and in game music.
