During the Cold War, surveillance in Moscow was the most difficult kind of surveillance that the US had encountered around the globe. Moscow had its own set of rules since it was such a difficult place to work. Former CIA Chief of Disguise Jonna Mendez talks about some of the tactics, gadgets and disguises CIA operatives used in the field during the Cold War. Check out Jonna Mendez-s most recent book The Moscow Rules or find more information about her on her website on Moscow Rules: Archival images courtesy of the International Spy Museum (SPY) in Washington, DC, a Guinness World Record recognized nonprofit with the largest collection of spy artifacts in the world. Everyone's talking about how the information that she's revealing is only what she's allowed to and that they have better tactics now, of course they do, you have a surveillance device in your pocket right now, they can listen to every word you speak and see everything you see to a degree, they no longer have a need for special agents with special gadgets and stuff, they can literally just tap into someone's cell phone and get as much surveillance as they need, not only that but directional microphone technology has gotten so much better that you could probably pick up your neighbor's dog licking itself three houses over.

Being a spook must require a very particular kind of person to just think, -Yeah, I wanna do that. - You're under constant surveillance, by both friend and foe. Your guard must be up at all times; any slip up can immediately make you suspect. And if you're caught, you're on your own and your agency no longer has anything to do with you. You will receive no rewards, medals, or accolades for your deeds, and no one will ever know what you did.

I read, don't remember where, that field agents carried a glass capsule filled with cyanide that was fixed to a back tooth so that if an agent was captured s/he could knock the capsule loose, bite down to crush it, take deep breaths and die. This has an apocryphal sound to it. What if you dislodge it by chewing food, or someone punches you, or you fall down? Anyway it makes an interesting story.

Cyanide pill, is your next operation
You are already poisoning me by other means under the mental health act you abused to hold me as a political prisoner.
Why stop at that. Including a cyanide pill with my next dose.
No smell or traceable
Bring it on Canada. You will just say bad reaction to meds.
Happy Murderer Canada Day!

Construction glove dirty sock in a dugout whatever pretty cool stuff though imagine if. They could be somebody that could come up with all kinds of eating stuff you think they want to hire that guy or gal. I can't wait to see what happens in the future.

Just go to the Bonneville salt flats I'm pretty sure that one fellow that went really really fast in the car I don't think that mask could last. Well it only took 5 seconds to get that top speed. And then look there's another world record

It's both awesome, and disturbing how much they can do.
And obviously this is just the tip.
I would imagine other foreign agencies do the same here in the U. S.
I wonder what their actual budget is? Seems very costly

I like how the thumbnail to this video shows -Cyanide- and an arrow pointing to the eyeglasses' temples, and Jonna is literally chewing on one of her eyeglasses' temple. No wonder she's -Former CIA-. -

see if they sent in Chinese CIA agents to Moscow they could just escape to China since China is literally next door as long as they get a fast car with some gadgets on it
