6 Traits That Determine Your Personality - HEXACO Personality Test

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Today, were talking about the HEXACO Personality Inventory. This test is designed to measure your personality in six categories The: Ok, so with emotionality, how is being anxious and fearful all the time a good thing and how is being fearful and anxious all the time good evolutionarily speaking? I find fear and anxiety can be quite debilitating for people, and I found that to be the case for me before I started meditating, and once I started meditating, my fear and anxiety went down significantly. I tend to live by a It means no worries for the rest of your days mantra and am way less anxious and fearful than average. That being said I am more sentimental than average, meaning I am compassionate towards others. I dont like how this video had favoritism towards certain traits and made sweeping generalizations based on peoples scores. Like, Im more open and flexible, but not lazy, and I perform well academically rather than performing poorly, and just because Im low in emotionality doesnt mean I dont form strong attachments and dont feel compelled to talk about problems with my friends. In fact I talk about my problems with my friends all the time and am really close with them. The only reason I scored low in emotionality is because I meditate which has drastically reduced my anxiety and fearfulness, which I see as a good thing. Despite being low in emotionaliy, Im actually an F-feeling type in MBTI and am considerate of others feelings, and I make decisions based on the way my feelings indicate my needs. I consider myself a hard worker and perform well academically. I am high in honesty-humility, lower than average in emotionality (but above average sentimentality and low anxiety and low fearfulness, high in extraversion, high in agreeableness so I get along with others, slightly below average in conscientiousness because I tend to be more spontaneous and creative and am not a perfectionist because I see beauty in imperfection, and very high in openness, meaning that I enjoy listening to different perspectives from my own because it helps me learn something new. There is no better or worse trait, and each trait has its pros and cons. Also, Im an ENFP-A, meaning Im extraverted, intuitive, feeling, perceiving, and assertive.

That was an interesting test and I think pretty accurate, even on the low marks. For example My emotionality would have scored higher if I had dependence on other people which I don't really and that alone was a score of 1. 5 (and 1. 25, THE lowest score of any. Maybe that's a product of being an INFJ-A (sigma) I scored myself twice (2nd in parenthesis) because on the 3rd attention question I read too quickly and clicked the wrong button before I realized what I had done. It didn't show a back button so I continued only to find that the results have a red note saying that it's very likely invalid. So I did it again. Perfectionism is still a 5 in both cases, (and prudence kicked up a notch) so there you go lol
I don't know how much it matters but I felt more cognizant of paying attention to the questions the second time and running through several scenarios in my mind before answering questions I didn't remember fully how I answered. I think it feels more honest and the differences are small differences are small except in the EXtraversion section. The score for social boldness and sociability nearly flipped and I think it made more sense the 2nd time around. I'm very social if need be but less likely to be the first to engage if I don't see the need for it. Feeling too modest at first (that went from a 5 to 4. 75) I'm sure played a factor.
Anyway it was fun and interesting to see how they adjusted based on mood and attention. Maybe I would think differently of myself on another day. I may try again one day.

Me before and me now is really different, back then when i was kids until teen i was a really bright person really like to socialize and play with others, i like to entertain people before but now i more introvert i shy and dont really enjoy meeting new people i get really nervous went i newly meet people now. I really insecure with people who is bright and happy go lucky i wanna be like that to but its like there is something suddenly shutdown me down but i dont know what is it.

Sometimes honesty comes? hard for people who constantly feel like theyre in trouble even when theydidnt do anything due to a past full of trauma from harshness and abuse BUTNOT bc they feel better than others and don't lie to get away with bad things bc they don't do bad things.
Does this count?
Does trauma change your personality? Or does it alter your perception of reality and your personality stays at least somewhat inherently constant regardless?

Interessting test, its always nice to learn something more about one self, as in most other similar tests i tend to score on the extraversion approx 50% or it will be seen as ambivert. There were some answers i just thought it depends for those i selected neutral.

How can we improve life satisfaction for introverts? There's nothing wrong with being an introvert, but society has built its entire media, propaganda, social systems, even its vocabulary to convince people that the only good life, only satisfying life is an extroverted one. We may need to redefine the metrics of happiness, satisfaction, and success to include the surprisingly large portion of our population who tends towards introversion.

While the people are figuring out who they are.
In the meanwhile I am believing that I am able to make it who I am.
I don't criticize how people judge themselves coz human attributes vary.
I just enjoy watching your videos and enjoy them with a firm determination that I have to improve and put my best every single morning when I wake up.
In fact it is this stubbornness that THEY still not only care but crave for me.

Hard to pinpoint everything exactly, bc many factors overlap or the way questions were phrased kinda affected my answers. also I am in a very shitty point in my life, dont even know if my final results mean anything at all. The only thing I know about myself is that I have debilitating anxiety and nonexistent social life, eh

Psych2Go, I keep seeing videos relating to past emotional trauma, for example, emotional neglect, but I never see anything about PRESENT emotional trauma. You have helped the community of those who had dealt with these experiences in the past, but you seem to have yet to acknowledge those still going through it. And, I was wondering if you could make a video doing just that. Thank you.

Now I have more questions than answers.
Always ready to listen but seldom willing to speak out - am I emotional or not?
Extraversion: if I am more productive apart from everyone - am I not good enough? If hexaco tells about extraverts while ignoring introverts.
Agreeable: forgiving so many assholes that normal people have to say goodbye - should I stay that way?

Emotionally is low, As Expected.
Though I did not think Emotionally would score that low.

reply

I scored low in emontionality, rest all high. I am indeed that kid of a person who would prefer not to give or take emotional support from my friends; simply because I don't have such kind of friends who would like to get serious or sad xD We r always merry, faking it or not: )

Well, everything within expected parametres, yet got some interesting surprises due to how the results unfold in sub-sections and how often I score oustide the 80% normal results. Guess 4. 75 unconventionality checks out.

This sounds like advertisement to be honest, but t he results are as expected: A bit below in honesty and humility, high in extraversion, super low in conscientiousness and high in openness to experience.
reply

I think the ideal personality is to have it balanced for each, it's attainable by everybody however impossible due to circumstances caused by a lack of good environmental closed ones&external individuals.
