OFF GRID GARDENING - Our First Garden - Ep. 8 blogs: All the upper tips of branches have sugar in the sap and that's what the worms love after it ferments even inside the compost. So the worm castings come from feeding them sugary whatever. Probably the seaweed has trace minerals that you can't find on land. It might rain to much that can wash out the nutrients. I'd keep a tarp over fallow ground and when planting you just let the rain rip because you can't stop over raining. The plants probably can grab up all the nutrients they need before the soil washes out. You could experiment with 3 mulch piles. Hardwood alder, pine based and mixed is the third. Then test and some of those neighbors are going to know. The healthy looking neighbors are either wealthy and import or have great gardens or both. Just copy their success, imo. Check their thumbs and see who has green thumbs. Worn out knees on their pants and green thumbs. I'd be working for free on a farm to get tips and manure for fertilizer. I'd have ears as big as Ross Perot. Hey honey do you know what they said about honey. And it didn't cost us any money. There's money in the honey but the cash flow is slower than molasses.

Having Holy Basil, there's quite a few different types A holy basil and we make tea out of it the other must have in my garden is that along with comfrey you know much about comfrey roots what I have done in the past I've gotten Maybe a half a cup put it in a quart of distilled water
Simmer with a lid on until it has a
Consistency and look like dark honey I put it in a sterile jar. And when an injury happens I take it tbsp is that and I put it on a Band-Aid or sterile product whatever you deem fit for the problem a sprain sore muscles skin knuckles or a cut dabble a little bit of that on it and you got your mending product for you. Check it out online. Years ago my daughter brought her bike and had her first bike wreck and my cousin made that the mixture I put it on the bed sheet and wrap her your leg in it I was very surprised because it's healed extremely quick. Have a good day you choose some more of your goodies those are my two best

How about there be 3 areas of the gardens voting, how about we rate-vote your gardens in all the areas. I mean obviously, you both will be doing and thinking of all of these aspects as your putting your gardens together, maintaining them, and then flourishing in your rewards. -- So on that note, I say have 3 points of grading-voting, 1: preparation of putting all together. 2: maintenance, nurturing, 3: how well the garden produced, your value of rewards. -- hope I made sense? Just an idea, obviously. Thanks and enjoy your gardening. ---- you both are so fun to watch. - - take care, be safe and Enjoy your amazing adventure. ----

Dandelions were originally brought from Europe to be used as food. They grow easily in Canada and are very nutritious. Red clover and purslane are two other edible plants. These can be used in recipes such as dandelion fritters, or dried and even run through a ball mill with such as berry flavouring added, to be mixed with water for a nutritious drink any time. I would say the one with the lowest maintenance, most natural bed, most representative of easily foraged plants, with enough sustainable nutrition. wins. In other words, quite possibly healthy weeds. Odd, huh?

13: 40, I'm sorry I didn't watch the episodes from the very start. Because I was so interested in you building the Yurt. I already know Nicole's garden bed was better in many ways and you also did a great job with yours, Jake. The two of you are such a great team and I hope you stay as you are throughout your lives together.

Some one said gather shells, yes, and set them in the fires and burn them to powder and the pine mulch needs that to drop the acidity to get to normal for plants. Fireplace ashes to the pine mulch pile. Imo. Gardening is easy for you. It's getting good soil and you can't buy it because you need too much.

Keep Nicole beautiful and healthy, Jake. Feed her fish from the ocean and wild game from the land, as Man was meant to do. Don't wait for her teeth to rot and for her to lose her period. Veganism is not natural, never an indigenous tribe anywhere has even considered it.

You ask for comments, so. Proper footwear please. Running shoes are for running. Rubber boots have their place. Proper boots will change your life. They protect you, they breath and make your feet much happier by the end of the day! Just saying.

Please add the Arabic language in the translation. I am very enjoying watching without translation, but it is difficult for me to understand all the words. I want to live with you the experience until life allows me to live my own experience
