In this video we visit two of Auckland-s many picturesque bays and sample the local cockles. The city is also home to the MOTAT museum complex (Museum of Transport and Technology) located on 2 sites connected by heritage trams. Site 1 is a recreation of a mid-1900-s town, showcasing a collection of New Zealand-s trams and heritage road transport along with stationary steam engines and other paraphernalia from the mid 1900-s. Site 2 houses the excellent Sir Keith Park Memorial Aviation Collection and a short 3ft 6ins demonstration railway where trains run on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Next we visit Glenbrook Vintage Railway for the Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally; this was one of favourite experiences, with ex-NZR steam and diesel locomotives hauling period rolling stock including a mixed train between Glenwood and Waiuku - Victoria Avenue. There was a magnificent display of cars, lorries, tractors, boats and other oddities, including ploughing demonstrations with a variety tractors. Sadly this will be my last New Zealand video until Covid restrictions are lifted and tourists are one again welcomed to this beautiful country. MOTAT - Tramway

Tim, you have produced a most enthralling video - a montage of movement, soundtrack and high quality images, that tells a story of place, people and projects with clarity and an enthusiastic eye.
I am never bored by your reportage. If only so called -professional producers- in that field could match your efficient eye for detail, combined with patient gathering of raw material for such treatment. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tim loved the video from start to finish. So much engineering of different types of machinery. Loved the train ride as always stunning scenery from this part of the world as always. How many miles does the railway run if possible please! ---------

Thank you Tim for an extremely interesting video. I was struck by the fact that the vintage tramway shown at the beginning was of mixed gauge, and both gauges were clearly wider than the usual New Zealand railway gauge of 3' 6-. What are the gauges?

I've always loved the UK countryside but NZ is even more lovely I think! I'm stuck in the Arizona desert USA. Not much green just many shades of brown.

Tim, Another great video. MOTAT and Glenbrook Vintage Railway are fascinating. Loco DIANA is a wonderful example or skilled restoration. Thanks again, Ted
