Learn how to flush your cooling system including the radiator, heater core, and engine block. I go though every step to SUPER FLUSH your cooling system completely. My truck's cooling system was really really bad and it needed a good flush. Now the cooling system is filled with brand new coolant and is clean! If your system is old or dirty, that dirt could be clogging holes in hoses, seals, and gaskets so take that into consideration when you do this. Spill free funnel I was talking about

hey chris, if the coolant rez is at max, should i take some out before putting in the, flush & cleaner? so far i've followed your lead on spark plugs n wires, and it was a breeze. the plugs i replaced were pretty terrible, guessing no one replaced them since the xterra was made in 03! now for the cooling system, i dont trust the previous owners to have flushed and cleaned that either. Thanks dude! lovin all your videos, super helpful for a noob like myself trying to get more familiar with what is in and around my vehicle.

Turning the heat and fan up has nothing to do with fluid flow thru heater core. That is directly connected to engine and fluid is pumped thru the core by engine collant pump, which always runs when the engine is running. In fact, turning on the fan when engine is cold only slows down the heat up process and that, also with thermostat removed is why You still had cold engine after that ride.

Hi!
I am thinking of replacing my very old coolant. Not sure if its necessary to flush the system however. Its an old Volvo s80 im going to replace the coolant on. It has both a petcock and a drain valve to the engine block, do you think it is sufficient to drain both and then put in new coolant or do you recommend to flush the system?
Cheers,
Joakim

If I drain the engine block before flushing with distilled water, does that help get the old coolant out faster? I'm planning on doing this soon and a lot of people seem pretty adamant about draining the engine block as well, but then there's also some confusing stuff about not running water through to flush it if you do that, which doesn't make sense to me.

Hey Chris! I have a 1994 F150 4x4 302ci. The truck runs good temperature-wise. However, the heat isn't great. The heater core hoses read about 70 degrees each F when the engine makes temperature. I plan on doing a Tstat and wanted to backflush the heater core and flush the entire system. Should I backflush the heater core first? Thanks!

I change my coolant from green to g12 pink. I started flushing the system until water came clear. The problem is that I only drain about 4 to 5 liters and my car takes 6. 5. So that means that some clear water is trapped inside. Is it okay if I mix it with 50/50? Or will the coolant weaken? What should I do please help

Was sample #1 the original fluid from the factory? Green coolant should be replaced every 30k and the thermostat at 60-90k. Also, if your engine has a timing belt, change the water pump when you change the timing belt.
My Ford had 188k when I sold it. The Chevy was a pos. The Honda has 255k and going strong.

Flushing a 2013 expedition. 19. 5 total quarts. However, when draining through the petcock you can only get about 3 quarts out at once. Makes it hard to follow these instructions completely. Going to have to drain and fill probably 10 times to totally replace the fluid. Is that common?

Great video, quite informative. I 'd personally really appreciate one thing though: could you please provide some information on prolonging the life of a car's thermostat? Any tips / tricks?
Many thanks in advance,
Harry
