Does Lucas Fuel System Cleaner Actually Work? (with PROOF)

In this video I tested Lucas Deep Clean. I use a mini borescope camera to look into the engine and see how dirty the engine is before the fuel treatment and then after the fuel treatment. I followed the instructions on the container and Lucas performed a little better than Techron and Gumout. This is the 4th test in a series of fuel cleaner test I will be performing to see how fuel cleaners work and if they actually work. Here is the fuel cleaner I used

Between this and the techron, it seems that either or would work the same. Better than the other brands you tested, but between the two, the big takeaway would be to use it in high concentration over longer terms. Probably would make sense to use 2 bottles on every tank regardless for about 6 months to get a significant clean in order to make a noticeable difference in overall performance. Well at least for the cylinder heads. However, from my own experience and comparing notes with the other comments I read here and your techron video, I think its safe to say that the biggest impact would be the results of the injector. As long as the injectors are good to go, then the performance will significantly change and results will be noticed almost immediately after a tank or 2.

great video thanks
I started using lucas gas treatment in a 2008 Honda element with 14, 000 k on it. I put some in at every gas up. for about 3 years now i always use top tire gas mainly shell. this is not the deep clean shown in your video. i dont think the lucas is as harsh as some cleaners so it can be used often and the price is right for this. The engine does run smother and quieter and i am getting maybe a bit better mileage but this could be that i switched to synthetic oil. I really got it because it claims to lubricate the motor and keep clean the injectors witch it seams to do. To get rid of a lot of carbon build up i think something stronger that is a one time use and yes i think after many tanks of gas with lucas may show better results
thanks dan

Ok so you have alot o great videos! But i have a question about an 88 Ford ranger that has been sitting for about 4 years with a full tank of gas but it acts like its not get any gas to start. They had someone replace the fuel pump and them it ran about 50 miles and wouldnt start again. The inertia switch was tripped from someone kicking it and it tested faulty so i replaced it. We cleaned the cold start cylinder. And It still only turns over but wouldn't start. First question: should i drain the 4 year old gas and try new gas? Or is there something else that i should check?

Those PEA types of Fuel cleaner must be used no more than 2 times before oil change. Techron which is well-known pea cleaner clearly stated that on their website. PEA type cleaners might be more efficient than PIBA type but it also get mixed with engine oil in your crankcase and possibly compromise your oil. Also frequent use of PEA types might degrade and compromise the oily film protective layer on the piston wall since its strong detergent.

I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra with 76k miles and have been using it since 69k miles (bought it at 67. 5k) and it has definitely gotten more fuel efficient, runs quieter/smoother, and has much easier power than before. It used to hesitate a lot now it practically doesn't hesitate anymore. I use Lucas and Gumout and alternate between the two.

Hey Pecker Head, you have to use it on a regular bases. Not just one time and think you little Ford is going to be completely overhauled on one usage. I been using this stuff every 4 or 5 fill ups on a 2005 F150 4. 6 and the engine has over 300K and never replaced an injector. The engine used less than a half quart of oil between oil changes now.

As someone who knows almost nothing about cars, I have a question. Has anyone thought to spray some treatment onto the pistons and maybe let it sit overnight and then run it? Would that loosen the carbon deposits up more?

It does work excellent for dirty injectors when used as directed.
Which is what it's purpose is for.
This is like testing your dish soap on your hair and wondering why it doesn't work as well as shampoo.
